help dilema - how may eggs?

hi ladies

need your help and honest opinion- I am due for transfer today after 2. the clinic called to tell me I have 3 great embryos .... 1 grade A+ and 2 Grade A. This is my 6th cycle and the and every other cycle I have has 2 eggs transferred at grade B which all of them failed except my last cycle where 1 egg implanted and resulted in my daughter being born still born. My placenta just stopped working.

thing is the clinic asked me to strongly consider only putting 1 egg back in???? My instinct wants to go for 2 as I am just so hopeful that 1 of them would implant and frightened that if only 1 transferred it might not work? he did say it was my decision?

What do you think I should do??

thanks

So I’ve had 2 eggs put back 3 times. Twice they were only day 3 each with unsuccessful single pregnancies. And the last one 2x 5 day 1 top and one b I ended up with twins.

I wouldn’t think about what if I put one in and it doesn’t work but if I put 2 in and I get twins or more. Would you be happy with your body carrying 2 babies?

advice

Odi

thanks for replying. ill be honest - i have never had the option of choosing 1 or 2 ... normally they aren't the best quality and the clinic have just decided 2 for me. The embryologist sort of frightened me when he sais he wouldn't recommend two as can cause complications and if 1 dies can cause bad effects on the other.

I just want a baby so badly that I want the best chances or am I am being greedy and letting my want overcome my judgement??

i would love twins yes....but would also be happy with 1 baby.... just wasn't sure when he said it would be against his opinion.... but option was mine. I also look at it that if i only transfer 1 and it doesn't work it will be back to my 7th go and ill always wonder. With regards my body - I suppose i would just have to hope for the best with regards that.

Where you told to transfer 1?

Hi Princess, brilliant embies :)

I will (hopefully) be in the same place as you in a few days time, my clinic has always routinely put 2 back in, both with my fresh and frozen transfers. Now they have changed their protocol apparently and say that they only put 1 back, I said given the choice I would want 2 but he just said ‘we don’t like to do that now, we will discuss it at a later date’...

In all honesty I don’t know I’m afraid, my heart says 2 (both mine were 2 sacs until 7 weeks and 9 weeks, what if the one they put back in this one is the one that comes away...?) but realistically with top grade embies, you could end up with twins, or more?!

Go with your gut instinct hon, it is your decision and only you knows best for you x so much luck to you xxx

thanks

Thanks Ladies

My guts says two cos I think it gives me better odds..... maybe not the safest or best idea but I am doing this to help with the best result and as you say if it doesn't work it doesn't work and at least I know I did it.

I am just hoofing for 1 and anything else is a bonus. xxx thanks girls xx

I’ve always pushed for 2. But this time I definitely only want 1

Transfer

So I just had 1 transferred ..... I wanted two but given my history with loosing my baby I just thought that if 2 did implant o may have trouble keeping them to the end so went for the safest option. I just hope it was the right one. I have 4 frozen now. That’s me in the 2ww...
heading to the north west 200 this evening so that will occupy my mind this evening xx

In the end you have made the best decision for you at this time. No matter the outcome, remember that. No point in worrying over what it's. And having 4 little embies to freeze is amazing! I'd be overjoyed if I ended with that. Fingers crossed for a sticky bean for you x
