Hi ladies,

Hi daisydo, my letter is in the post today aswell... hopefully we won't be waiting much longer. I've already done a round of icsi privately and the bit I dread the most is the two week wait!! Going by my dates and if I get an appointment soon enough I'm thinking my meds will start around Christmas time and hopefully ec and transfer in January!!

Anniebell this mite be a bit random but is this around the time of ur period? Was just wondering if thats the way the work the blood appointments! Seeing as they ask when you accept the offer when ur last period was.

JB697, i am thinking it will be end of jan mayber later by the time i start just thinking with dates, well my next periods are 28th nov, 26th dec, 23rd jan, id imagine i wont get my big appointment till after xmas but couldnbe wrong x

I'm going by my last round but maybe the rfc have a different protocol, I know meds start on day 21 of your cycle and for me that will be falling around the 23rd Dec, if the 2nd appointment is before then I think you get the meds and a plan and start on day 21 but I could be wrong and maybe there will be a hold up with christmas!! It's all a waiting game.x

My period was due 2 days after letter received. I'm due again on my next appointment. Not the blood one, the ptc one leaving my day 21 on 24th Dec. When you ring up to accept treatment they ask you the date of last period, I told them it was due but they still needed date of last one.

I've an period tracker app and it's like clockwork to it so I'm pretty good with the dates. JB697 Do you think we will get starting meds over Xmas or will we need to wait till next cycle?

I honestly don't know anniebell, that's the way it was for my last round but that was private so it could be complety different, I'm probably just trying to convince myself it will all happen sooner. I'm dreading going through the whole thing again but can't wait to get started at the same time :) x

Good luck Anniebell. My blood appointment is on Monday and all I'm worried about is the weigh in lol. Jb679 my cycle started today meaning on my big appointment on the 11th December I will be cycle day 20 do you think I will get to start the day after on cycle day 21? or will they make me wait to 21days after my next cycle on the 18th December?

I don't know about rfc Martha, my last cycle was with origin and that's the way it was there, after all the tests etc you were able to start on day 21... but I've had both a fresh and frozen transfer and I've never used nasal spray so maybe rfc have a totally different protocol.

Thank you jb697for getting back to me. Just have one more question from day 21 how long was it to Egg Collection and Transfer. I'm just thinking about the Christmas holidays coming up etc etc. I know it's different for everyone but wondering time wise how did it work for you?

Thanks girls. I'm finding it hard to believe after a year on the waiting list we are finally starting so I'm assuming all sorts will go wrong and I'll be sent home with tail between legs for some reason or other. I'll start to believe after tomorrow I hope. Irrational I know but that's how I'm feeling. My stomach is in knots over it. We choose our donor tomorrow as well so it's all so new and nerve wrecking.

It's over a year from I 1st had treatment Martha so I'm trying to remember and getting mixed up in the fresh and frozen transfer, I think for the 1st round you have to ring them on the 1st day of your period and you go in for a scan 2nd day and then start meds, if I remember correctly now the day 21 is for a frozen transfer which for me was a longer process! But I had a short protocol which just started with injections and no nasal spray, so it could be different.

Once I started the stims I had to go up every 3 days or so for scans to check follicles, then another injection was added to stop the eggs being released prematurely and a hcg shot the day before egg collection to mature them, i think the whole process took about 12 days or so...

Well... I've been. Nurse called us both in and we got ids checked, bloods taken, height and weight done and a photo taken and that's the end of a normal appointment. We are using donor sperm so we had to choose our donor, we were given a choice of around 5, hubby is mixed race so there was little to choose from for us, others might be different. When we had decided on one, she then gave us more information on the donor including a paragraph the had written about themselves. We are really really happy with our choice so roll on 7th Dec for our PTC.

I'd say so cause although they are closed. You will need no scans until you start injections they told me which would be 3-4 weeks after your day 21 so you should be fine.

hi ladies just finished with my blood appointment, all went ok and nurse was impressed that from my first appointment a year ago I've dropped 14kg taking my BMI from 38 to 31.5 The nurse also said that there's a possibility my treatment will start on the 12th Dec after my big appointment on the 11th as I will be on cycle day 21!.. excited apprehensive but looking forward to it all. The nasal sprayis likely to be for three weeks as the technicians are off then injections for 12days...I might be testing a few days before my 38th birthday!

Yep wanabeeeee the nurse was more than happy with the 14kg loss just over 31 pounds. With a BMI of 28 you will be grand, no added pressure of having to loose weight for you.

Hi Ladies just had my big appointment for schedule etc in RFC we are getting ICSI treatment. Due to technicians taking time off over Christmas the only date available for egg collection was 31st January meaning I would have been on nasal spray for 51/2 weeks if I had started tomorrow. The nurse did give me a choice but recommended I leave it to my next period which is due on the 23rd December. I'm happy enough as it only delays the process by 2weeks and after all this time that's grand lol. She had printed out a schedule which was worked around me starting tomorrow which I've opted out off they will post me out another when the 23rd comes round.

Hi, I'm on day 18 of spray and okay now but the week of my period, I had major PMT. Glad to be feeling more like myself this week. I start injecting on the 28th. Still feels like so far away.
