Sorry guys I posted that too soon, I'm wondering if anybody has lost there mucus plug as early as 22 weeks.
I suddenly had a huge amount of discharge earlier on and thought my waters had broke-huge panic.
I called the midwife and she said she thinks some of my mucus plug has come away but not to worry unless I suddenly get pain, and I've to see her tomorrow. Of course I am worried. Is this normal?

I don't have experience of this but I wanted to say I hope all is ok and try and stay calm if you can. It sounds like the midwife isn't overly concerned so take some comfort from that. I hope she can provide you with more reassurance tomorrow but if you're worried can you go to the hospital tonight?

Take care x

Hi Net, she wasn't really that concerned and said that it's not always a sign that labour is imminent and sometimes we loose it gradually for weeks. As usual though I have googled and read mixed stuff about this. She did say to go in if I got sudden pain. Trying to stay calm but I'm too much of a stress head xx

Oh Clare sorry to hear you have another thing to panic about. A friend of mine lost her mucus plug at around 30 wks. She was given steroids to help her babies lungs to develop in case she went into early labour but she managed to last until 38wks, she had a healthy baby boy. I know she wasn't as early as you but just wanted to give you some hope. I'm sure someone else will be along to reassure you some more. Take care and I hope your midwife appointment goes well tomorrow. Take care x

Hi Clare, oh dear it's always something to worry about isn't it. Try not to panic I have heard it can happen gradually and no labour for weeks after, so hang of n and see what midwife says 2moro

Honestly if it's not one thing it's another. The midwife did say that, she said after some of this comes away some people still go to full term and to not worry, but as usual I read stuff about it and stressed myself out. xx

I have done the same today and started googling things it's honestly a nightmare Google should b banned u get far more bad stories than u do good.
I think if the midwife's rnt worried then we need to take that as a good sign they have seen it all

Your right, I need to ban myself from googling stuff like this! It doesn't help one bit. Although In my frantic googling I did come across woman who had the same at this stage and went to term so trying to chill out. xx

Google is evil. I've come to that conclusion after my own frantic googling. I put myself on a Google ban and felt so much better for it. All the best x

Everything is fine! Went in earlier and they scanned me and checked my cervix length which she said is great at 3.9. They said that sometimes you can loose a bit of the plug and it's totally harmless and can even reform, but absolutely no signs I'm going to go into premature labour. So can relax again until next worry crops up. :S xx

I feel fine Pip, tired all the time but I feel ok generally. I'm still seeing them weekly just now but I'm hoping if I go tomorrow and they are happy enough it will change to fortnightly, will see what consultant says tomorrow. I'm going to try and relax a bit now and stop stressing over everything...easier said than done but definitely going to try chill out a bit..xx

Clare I've just read your scare. So glad to see everything is totally fine.
I have had to stop googling as almost everything you find will almost always lead to a sad story at the end.
Glad you can relax now everything is ok love xxxx
