Hi ladies, it is the pest again,
How did everyone go about stopping progesterone?
I am to stop at 12 weeks which is today but I'm scared of just stopping, thinking of cutting down gradually?

Hey Pip
My clinic told me to just stop but I cut down to one a day to 13 weeks then stopped. The placenta has kicked in by now so you'll be fine
Take care xx

Hi Pip

I worried about this loads too. It's amazing when you do eventually stop though.
My clinic take you off at 6 weeks! I stayed on until 10 due to spotting.

The pattern was to reduce to one pessary a day for 3 days. Then reduce to one every other day for about a week.
Xxx

Hi Pip, I was to stay on them until 12 weeks. I felt quite anxious about stopping them too. They told me I could just stop them cold turkey as your body is producing them, I think I started to take one a day, then one every other day until I had none left just because it somehow felt easier. It was great to not have to take them though xx

Hi pip, not long since I was asking the same! Ended up cutting pessaries and taking 2/3 for a few days, then half, then 1/3... the day after I stopped completely I had a tiny bit of spotting so took 1/2 once a day for a couple more days. Was fine 2nd attempt at stopping. Long story short, keep a couple spare if you can just incase you need to go back on them. Most folk seem to be fine doing cold turkey though (and trying to put 1/3 in is just plain awkward!)
