Thanks huni any other questions feel free!

I want to so much enjoy this as I've waited so long but all I can feel is nervousness that something will go wrong......we are never happy are we!! Doesn't help that our clinic ask you to test a week after your BFP to make sure its still positive before they book you for the 6 week scan so its tiny little milestone after milestone I guess!

I was really calm for this FET so I do think that helped a lot I did some nice deep breathing during ET and had some great accupuncture so if you have the funds for it I can recommend that too.

Hi Ladies, can i join you?

Congratulations Macksie on your BFP  So happy for you..

DH & i have decided to try a FET, we have a 14 month old DD & would love to give her a younger sibling ( i do have two older boys aged 15 & almost 10 )
I only have two frozen embryos - i think they are either 2 or 3 day embryos. Fingers crossed they thaw :)

Can someone answer a few questions while i wait for my clinic to get back to me.
Do you have to give your clinic three AF's?
Do you just DR or do you have to take HRT as well?
I assume as DD is 14 months old i will have to have HIV, Hepatitis B & Hepatitis C blood test done again, can i get my own doctor to do them? Sorry for all the questions..

Hopefully i can start FET asap & join all of you
XxX

Thanks:)

I know it is. It's a long journey but once you can enjoy it which you will eventually it is such an amazing experience:) I was sooo calm and positive with our ICSI cycle in 2010 and as you've said I'm sure it contributed! With my FET in Feb I was no way near like I was 1st time round but was still lucky enough for it to work briefly which I'm even grateful for that.

Keep calm and carry on! :)

Thanks I will look into that.

Rachael welcome to the fet club!

Firstly for the bloods call you GP and they will get the forms done for you so you can either get them done at the surgery or pathology at your local hospital if you say It's for fertility they know the drill so will sometimes also fax them to the clinic for you.

As for the medicated fet I don't believe you will have to wait 3 cycles unless you've just been through treatment so they down reg you at cd 21 like a fresh cycle then start you on HRT after you have a bleed then they scan you to check the lining is all good and book you in for et when they know the time is right you have to use the gel pessaries aswell!!

Good luck with your cycle xxx

Hi Rachael : D Ooo, so exciting  I didn't have to give clinic 3 cycles... Presume they've got back to you now...?

I had 3 med FETs, I had HRT each time, everything was the same as with fresh for me, except for stimming of course :)

I had to redo my tests, dd was 18 months old, had them done at the hospital where clinic is.

I wish you so much luck hon! FET is far 'easier' and less stressful than fresh, it was quite surreal, as if I wasn't really doing it...

Good luck everyone xxxxx

Are you going to take OCP Rach? I took it for nearly 4 weeks, then had 3 weeks of DR, HRT etc and then FET.

Our clinic only charged us for the months we used their freezer for at the end, not for a whole year xxxxxx

I'm on buserelin and started progynova tabs last Wednesday. Had baseline scan last Tuesday and have another scan next Friday the 2nd so transfer shouldn't be too long after that! What medication will u be taking?

Lots of luck!!! PMA PMA:-)

Thanks dusky:-)

Nice to hear your getting on well ladybear:-)

I was looking at my protocol sheet last night and I'm on day 31 of buserelin today. According to the sheet I'm to carry on with buserelin for another 9 days making it a total of 40 days on the stuff. I'd been sent 40 needles and syringes and 3 bottles of 5.5ml buserelin. It was only after last nights injection that I could see I wasn't going to have enough for another 10 days! If I'm injectin 0.5ml and there's 5.5ml to each bottle then that's only going to give me 33 injections. Ill be on the 31st today and it does appear by looking that ill have enough for tonight and 2 more nights making it 33 as I worked out. I've phoned the hospital this morning and explained to the receptionist an they said someone will phone back today or if not today then tomorrow?! I did say that im only going to have enough up till Friday and will need more! I'm fretting now to say the least. I have a scan there on Friday afternoon anyway but I know the drugs are sent out now from somewhere else and not the hospital so they will need to get a move on as its Wednesday now.
I'm going to ring them again soon and chase them up.

I'm fretting :-(

My oh my I am a worrier! They've just phoned me and said they'll give me more on Friday at my scan. I don't know why enough wasn't sent but all solved now and I can relax again.

Hello :-)

I've had my scan today and lining was 9.2. My transfer will be probably 13th August. As always I never have any questions until after I've left! I take it I don't have another scan now as they didnt say. Is 11 days not a bit long to leave it until transfer without another scan? And why is it so long until the transfer. They know what their doing as my DF keeps saying but I never think to ask these things! I also had to pay for more buserelin as I have only have a bit left but im wondering why enough wasn't sent? Again my mind goes blank when I'm in there and I did mean to take a list of things to ask but I forgot to do that lol. DS keeps me so so so busy it's hard to keep on top of everything!

I'm sure what will be will be anyway.

Aww Emma sorry I don't have the answers to your q's - I remember having to buy more bruesllin last time, im sure I did! You would think hey would have got the dosage right....

I agree tho, that is a long time to not be scanned in but again they do know what they are doing! Because you have done it before perhaps they know how your body is going to be?? I maybe wrong tho....

Im sure this week will fly and you will soon have your little frostie onboard xx

That's great lining Emma  I remember thinking the same before, why the long wait, I was worried my lining would start getting thinner, which they assured me of course it won't, it'll only get thicker. Try not to worry, easier said than done I know, but they have it all in hand :-) Only a week to go :) xxxx

Hi Dusky

Thanks for the reassurance ;-) well aslong as it can only get thicker then that's fine! I just thought with my period due around transfer date that's all, but the meds delay it do they?
I see you've also had success with a FET which has given me more hope:-) thanks for your info xx

Ladybear - I did phone liverpool today an they did confirm you just have the one scan and if lining wasn't thick enough you'd go back but as mine was then there is no need and as dusky said it can only get thicker so I guess that's why then, I also thought too that wouldn't it start coming away lol. I really do have no idea and should leave it to the experts I guess. Lets face it - they did give me and DF our miracle boy:-) :-)
I'm not finding it much different to be honest, I don't seem to get tired really just a bit irritable maybe :-/

Hope your doing well with everything. Keep us posted.

I didn't realise you was at Liverpool too Emma, just seen your from North Wales not too far away then - Just read you've got your ET date WOW how exciting :sticky: for you!!

My scan is on Wednesday so fingers crossed I can start the progonova then the pessaries and get my date eeek!!!! Feeling really nervous not thought about how we will feel if it doesn't work, this is our last chance I think unless they don't defrost all 5 embryos.

Hi ladybear:-)

Ye I'm at Liverpool!

With my FET in feb this year (when I had 2 frosties) they defrosted one and they said if it didnt thaw they'd defrost the 2nd straight away. It thawed very well and was very good quality so the other, last one was kept which will be used this time round. I don't know obviously if they do it with higher numbers of frosties because of the wait for each one would add up. I suppose you will find out nearer the time.

Babydust to everyone!

Hi girls,

Am new to this thread but have been reading a bit of it over the last few weeks, I'm having FET on my next cycle, I am due on my period next week so I will be contacting the clinic soon, but was just wondering if any of you can tell me how many days is it after my period that I start the meds?

If it's same as mine you'll start down reg on CD 21 have another bleed when af is due then start the progynova so et will be a couple of weeks after that. I find medicated fets take forever! Good luck xxx

Hi Steff, Welcome to FET.
If you are having a medicated FET then yes, I am afraid that it does take that long as you have to dr as you would on a fresh cycle. The only being that there is stimulation and no egg collection.
But the lining and everything else is the same.
I opted for the natural FET, meaning ET was synced with my natural ovulation etc.
All the best with your journey.

Thank you! I've had more info from ladies on here than from the specialist, I don't mind it taking a little longer tbh because I'm nervous about having another baby and wouldn't mind an extra month of being me! Everyone seems to think I'm saying I don't want it when I say that but I had un diagnosed post natal depression for 2 years after my first little man and both parents moved away and found it pretty tough so bit scary doing things all again, so the thought of an extra month is quite ok with me :)

Steff, take as much time as you wsnt to be ready. You alone know how much you want this and it is right to be aware of the possibility of pnd occurring again. I hope that your gp will be very supportive in your post natal care.

lots of hugs.

Ahh thanku, dh is not so supportive he's been wanting to go for it for the past year or so but I've said no I needed to work on me and I do feel better now, but its like now I'm better he kinda was pushing me to sort the appointment but I have dragged things out to give myself more time, and yeah I do want another child but I want to be ready and he doesn't understand that it's quite scary for me he doesn't see what my problem is, which frustrates me!
I am feeling ready now but I'm trying to enjoy the last few months of it being me and my lovely little boy before it all changes!
It's lovely to be able to talk about this to have an outlet without the ppl in my life accusing me of not wanting another child, they just don't get it!
And yes, if my GP doesn't bring it up I would anyway and no as soon as I start to feel low I need to ask for help!
Thanku for listening to my moan lol
:o)
