You live in Lincs though, so how come you're treated up here? ?(

As for treatment in Fax . . do they do what you require here in Fax? Because I know if I need to go for IVF, I will be transferred to either Leeds or Manchester ??

Best way to do it, would be inform someone, i.e. a GP or your present Gynae?
Or even ring the AC unit at Fax?

Yeah, all blood tests ive had back, sex hormones, testosterone levels, fsh, lh , the works, since 2007... were in line with PCO and not ovulating... had the scans to confirm PCO and have taken it from there, it's only now that after pushing for a referral I feel somebody is listening to me
Currently on cd11 of 2nd round Clomid 50mg cd2-6.... I'm seeing Dr.Marie, not DeBono (I wanted to see him but hey ho! She's nice)
They did the follicle tracking the first round just to make sure the correct doesage of clomid was given and I FINALLY ovulated (cd21 progesterone = 70) after all those months :)
DB had normal SA, numerous internal scans for me have come back with PCO.

Just thought i'd say hiya with this sub-forum being so close to home!!

I'm originally from Hudds but moved to Halifax so DB could get to work easier...
next "follow up" appt not until Dec 30th.

Good luck with your lap&dye xx

Hi Girls, I had my first IVF at Calderdale last year, they were fab! You only have to go to Manchester for EC and ET all scans and blood tests are done at halifax. Everyone at Care in Manchester are just as nice as at Halifax. I did my egg share cycle at Manchester, but that was only because Halifax don't do egg share!

Hope you both get your BFP very soon!

Hi there ladies. Old thread I know but we just kicked off egg donor for my sisters IVF at Calderdale assisted conception in Halifax. So far so good, our nurse who is dealing with us is Lucinda. She's lovely. In fact I saw Helen last week as Lucinda was on holiday and she was lovely too!

Hello ladies, I'm new to this forum, although not new to Halifax, been going since 2009.

Had clomid three times. First time resulted in ectopic, second time a miscarriage and third time was advised to stop as they thought I had tube problems, so best to try IVF.

Two unsuccessful IVF treatments later, we've concluded that my eggs are of poor quality and low reserve so best to use donor eggs on future IVF.

We met with Lucinda a few months ago. She told us the options and the only one we are interested in is a donor we don't know, in this country. She told us that Halifax didn't do any of the treatments, none of the scans or any of the tests, that all she could do was to refer us on to the clinic, in our case CARE in Manchester (we've been there before for IVF). She was very clear that Mr De Bono didn't believe in donor IVF and wouldn't support it in his clinic.

OK, fair enough...

I rang back today to find that Lucinda is on long-term sick and another has taken over. She said that we could be put on the list at ACON, but it would be a long time as there are a lot of ladies on it and not many donors. She said we could go to CARE directly if we wanted it to be quicker, but it costs more going privately rather than the NHS.

I'm utterly confused by this. Firstly we're going to have to pay anyway as we had our one NHS free go (perhaps she didn;t know this and presumed we were first-timers), secdondly the previous nurse made it clear that there was no NHS treatment option at that clinic. I've asked her to put me on the NHS list and also refer us to CARE, to hedge our bets and hopefully get to the bottom of it.

Firecracker, what did she say to you? is it just Egg SHARE that Mr De Bono doesn't like?

CONFUSED! ?o(
