To find out or not?

Our scan is coming up and I REALLY REALLY want to find out the baby's sex, but hubby thinks it will ruin the 'suprise' and is undecided.

I want reasons to convince him please!!!!!!!!

well maddy i didnt find out with any of the children and at the births it was a wonderful surprise [zx053]
but...i can see why it would be sooo nice to know and very practical as well...you could buy all the 'right' colours and do the nursery in the'right' colour too...its personal choice isnt it? would your dh mind if you found out yourself but if you'd be anything like me you wouldnt be able to keep your gob shut
would you find out on your own....i've known lots of people who've done this..

Well that's a problem, I know there is NO way I would be able to keep it to myself. LOL No nursery either  I am hoping when we get in there he will change his mind LOL I didn't find out with my daughter and he says this will probably be the only child he ever has so wants to wait. Which of course I will do if he really wants to.... ;( :D

Maddy

I didn't find out on my two and the surprise was FAB!!

The only reason I'm going to find out TOMORROW is that I feel I need to be a little more organised this time around as I'm on my own.

Well I found out both times and it meant we had three surprises .. one when I got my BFP ... one when we found out which sex ... and last when we saw what our beautiful baby looked like :tears: --- found out first time around at 34 week scan and kept it quiet .. only DH and I knew -- but second time around we found out at 22 week scan and have to say it really helped prepare Callum - he helped to choose the name and was really excited helping us to decorate the nursery and it helped him get ready because Gregor was kinda like a little person before he was here iykwim! and Callum got so excited talking to everyone and telling them about his little brother who was coming soon

Hi Maddy

DH and I were in the same kind of position - I really wold have rather waited until the birth to find out the sex but he was absolutely desperate to know. I could not have lived with him knowing when I didnt so that was not an option. In the end I caved and we found out at a scan at 16weeks. Although there is a teeny bit of me that would still have loved to find out at his birth I also now just love knowing I am going to have a son. Just looking ahead at the future and knowing we will have a little boy is amazing. I would say see how you feel at the time - bubs may make the decision for you by hiding his/her bits.

The one thing I will say is if you do find out be prepared for some ignorant people passing judgement on the fact you know the sex - I was amazed at the amount of people who said I had "ruined the surprise". Me being me there is no way I could have kept it between dh and I - I told the world lol!!!!

Enjoy your scan and hey - its either a boy or a girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xxxxxxxxxx

ahhh well you see Murphs, I decided to take the pressure off him and not find out. When I told him I thought I should just be patient he grinned like a big kid. So if baby has it's legs up in the air and we see then fine but we won't be asking to be told.

Ooh your maternity leave starts tomorrow! How exciting:D
