ovulating quick question

hi quick question

my monitor says im ovulating today, so we did the dirty deed so to speak half an hour after result came up. do we do the dirty deed again tonight or do we wait for 2 days but surely that'll be too late then.

if we do the dirty deed again tonight witll it weaken his sperm?

would appreciate some advice before i go to bed (10 pmish) if that ok

thankyou so much for any replies

I reckon another quickie wouldn't hurt! ;) They do say if you are having sex over a period of time to do it every other day, but i'm sure for this one occasion it wouldn't hurt - get to it and good luck!! xx

What monitor do you have? Mine usually gives me ovulation for a few days as it covers either side too, does yours just give you an ovulation day? If so, then you'll be on the natural 2WW!! Good luck! xxx

clearblue fertility monitor. its my 2nd month of using a monitor. today it was right up to high fertility with a pic of a follicle and egg inside it. pretty cool  . also checked pee stick and there was dark line and control line there. so dont know how many days the pic will remain there. but we shall see

so after tomorrow i'll be on 2ww. YAY!!!

so let the madness begin : D

thanks again

Hi
We use the cb fertility monitor too and have managed to get pregnant twice using it, both times on the second cycle of use :-)

In both those cases we did the deed once during high (two bar) days and once on peak (three bar) days - just circumstances prevented a better effort. Last month we went for it hammer and tong and got nothing. I think it's still very much luck of the draw and as long as you havr sex regularly during your fertile window, then you're increasing your chances. Not sure it's really possible to 'weaken' sperm. There maybe slightly less volume but it only takes one in the end! I know the fertility clinic was horrified when a friend's husband confessed to not ejaculating for a couple of weeks in the run up to tests and he was advised to 'use it or lose it'!

Also important to remember that the peak signal actually means ovulation is 24-36 hours away and sperm can survive for up to 5 days in the right environment.

So...get them in there and have fun doing it!

Hope there's good news in two weeks!

Hi

The peak days mean the machine has detected lutenising hormone which means you are just about to ovulate. When you'rr ttc, it's better to have lots of sperm in there waiting to pounce when the egg's released. Bit trickier to hit the egg once it's released. So if you got a peak day reading today, it's still a good day to do the deed unless of course you're to exhausted!!

The monitor is great - it's shown my cycle is different every time which goes a long way to explaining why things didn't work for us before.
