When can you start exersize after IVF and BFP?

Hello - what would you recommend. I would like to start swimming or doing something - but I'm only 4.5 weeks so I don't want to jepodise anything. I'm happy to just do nothing, but at the same time I would like to be fit
.
What is recommended after IVF

Thank you.?

Hi PIK

I exercised before during and after my IVF and went on to have a very easy birth, aslongasyour body is not put under any undue stress and you have no medical problems then things should befine.

The fitteryour body is for labour the easier it should be

SERIOUSLY no swimming until 12 weeks - that good to know!! I didn't know that - is that the norm after IVF?? I was going to wait to do anything until after the 6.5 week scan to be sure the hearbeat is there etc, but I didn't realise you had to wait until 3 months before going in the pool. Thanks for your advice.

Best wishes.

Each person is different. You need to ask your clinic about you. some clinics don't like swimming because of the risk of infections (I think). Ask. A lot of the time if you had losses they recommend no exercise, rest and no sex either.

I was told no swimming only the first 10 days after ET, then OK. Of course no sauna or jacuzzi ever b/c they raise your temps but swimming (esp gently, not like in the olympics!...) as such is recommended as far as I know.

My ob-gyn said the usual exercise routine I had before (well....IF I had had any... :O ) would be OK, as long as I am considered to be having a normal pregnancy, which obviously can change with time and by person. Having said that, I think I will not do any urban biking (which was my only exercise routine) because of the risks.
