Hi girls,
Just found this thread and have read it from the start - very funny!
I had my dd 2 weeks before my 38th birthday, and my ds 4 weeks before my 40th - and that was in the days when women had their babies in their 20s.
Louise Brown, the first ivf baby was born during my first pregnancy, so we're talking 1978 here!!
Having children at such an advanced age actually helps to keep you young. The only problems were that I couldn't retire at 60 as I was still supporting my son at uni., and my lovely granddaughter is now only 14 months - so will I see her grown up? Hopefully I've inherited my mum's genes, as she lived to be almost 93, and my gran's aunt made it to 106!
I now look after my dgd 3 days a week now that dd's back at work - so I'm getting younger again :snigger:
Good luck to all the ttc girls and h&h pg to the bumpy ones. :)

Hi Chris - how nice to hear such good news from and older mum/grandmum....It must have been an interesting time for you being an older mum in the 70's.

As for children keeping you young at the rate you're going you'll overtake your gran's aunt! I am really hoping now that the twins are going to turn back the clock and I'll start losing my wrinkles! xfingers

Hi been reading the messages and some of them are so funny,

I have my DS (IVF) at 37, I am approaching 39 now and we are TTC naturaly, what gets me is the amount of people who are shocked that our DS is only 1 1/2 and how we have left things so late.

the way I look at it is I am older and wiser.

on the pluss side when we need pushing in our wheelchairs out LO will br young and fit themselves. lol
TTC since 2004

Hi
Im also 40, my daughter is 10 and am doing it all again! BFP 5+3, am waiting for scan next week.
Hoping my age will make me more relaxed about the whole thing, was so anxious with last pregnancy and would like to enjoy this one. (Is that actually possible do you think or just a myth?!)
