Not a clue but the best person to ask is a pharmacist.

I had a horrible cold and wanted to know whether Lemsip was ok so spoke to the pharmacist who checked the ingredients in his book and told me no.

So if I were you I'd get to a chemist tomorrow and ask to speak to the pharmacist.

I was told I couldnt use Vicks whilst pregnant although it doesnt say anything on the box! Yeah best thing to do is speak to a pharmacist x

Yikes..too late for me I've been using it. I've had a stomping head cold for over a week and been putting it on my chest at bedtime. Its the only relief I get.

You really do need to speak to a pharmacist. The thing is you don't know what the ingredients may do to your baby.

I didn't know but lemsip can cause deformities because of one of the ingredients. You don't even buy it over the counter and it can do things that serious.

If you go to a pharmacy they will advise you on what to use and what not to use.

As with many medicines - they can't licence many things because of the ethics involved in tested drugs on unborn babies and pregnant ladies.
Even if you phoned your equivalent of NHS24 (as is in Scotland) which would be NHS Direct, they will be able to find out from a GP on call if you can be permitted to have it or not. It might be best to call them this evening rather than a pharmacist in the first instance, since a pharmacist may tell you to seek the advice of your GP. Your call shouldn't take long and they will be able to set you straight - I used to work for NHS24 myself not so long ago and we would often get calls from pregnant ladies looking for meds advice. Spoke to my friend whose father is a pharmacist of 25 yearsand Vicks vapour rub is absolutely fine and safe to use in pregnancy
