Hi everyone! There's a teething thread somewhere and a lot of people seem to recommend nelson's powders. Janey - in your red book there should be a paragraph suggesting how often to get them weighed. I take martha once a month to the weigh in clinic. All is good here tho i wish that m would take a bottle of ebm without so much fuss! She is almost 12 weeks so i guess needs the number 2 teat? She only has a bottle 2 or 3 times a week but any advice much appreciated. X

Thanks jen, will check the book, I is def putting on weight but im just curious as shes still in newborn clothes, tried her in a 0-3 outfir the otherday and it drowned her, she was on 9th centile so just want to check she is still following this ok if not increasing a bit.
Poppit, thats crap of your DH to take so little time for your 2 older DHs, i know how crap it is when fathers pay little attention to their kids, no wonder i have daddy issues :snigger:
poor A teething, it does sound painful so anything you learn please pass on :D
Jen as for EBM, how quick does M take her bottle? I also has about 1-2 bottles of EBM a week and seems to guzzle it well from a size 1 teat, when you say fuss what is she doing?

Went into Next today and no sale on - wtf?? i though it would have been in all stores

Hi girls glad to see that you all seem to be doing well and that some of you got some good bargins at the next sale. I couldn't be bothered going so no bargins here. Although saying that I have loads of clothes for A as a colleague of my DH had a son last year and she keeps giving us his old clothes. Saving us a lot of money which is good. I had a shock on pay day as my wages were down £353 compared to my low wages. It looks like this is what I'll get till I go back to work so it's time to tighten the belt for this house. I wonder if anybody could give me some advice. At present A has 5 bottles in 24 hrs. I wake him at 11pm to give him a bottle but I was wondering when he would sleep longer over night. He still wakes at 5ish for a feed but people (my mum) keep saying that if I waken him then I'm never going to get him to sleep through the night. If I don't give him that feed then he would only be on four feeds a day and he would wake up through the night. I know that he is only 8 weeks old and I'm now worrying that what I'm doing is detremental for him. Any advice would be welcome.
Lisa well done on the weight loss that is great.
Christine xx

Evening

Well on the teething matter freddie seemed to have probs with teething and i gave him powder didnt seem to do anything then bonjela he screwed his face up at so gave him calgel which he liked and now i just simply give him teethers which i keep in the fridge and a soft muslin cloth i got which he chomps on!!! he seems ok with it now????

As far as the sleep thing goes freddie changed his routine lots and sometimes he had a dream feed and went through other times he woke up at 3am and then a few times in the night but now he goes to bed earlier ie 7ish and tends to sleep till 6am he has only just started doing this so i think they go through a growth spurt and maybe need more feeds then and eventually you will find bubs will sleep longer!!!

poppit i agree!!! naps whats that even freddie seems to only have power naps now!!!

Jane dont worry freddie was in some newborn stuff for ages actually his babygrow hes in now in 0-3 and hes nearly 5 months!!! ha ha and then others hes grown out of?? all depends on the shop next is big so i don't think it reflects the baby!! and i get freddie weighed once a month!!

Freddie is getting weighed tomorrow I know hes put on abit as hes getting a lump to carry!! and I had right back ache!!!

poppit a question for you........I really fancy the mercedes a class test drove it and love it, its not to big and not too small BUT people have really tried to put me off saying they go wrong and parts expensive etc grrr i really like it!!! what are your thoughts???

Wow ex not bothered since xmas thats like months ago does he not have them weekly???

who said something about snow???? god I do hope i imagined that as its been nice and sunny!!!

hope everyone is ok...

 i am so so fed up with all this snow, i mean enough already. Its too heavy to get out for a walk and I woke up after only 30 mins kip :pullhair:
Poppit i should get a tshirt like that for I

Christine, you should do what ever you think is right not your mum, i used to get stressed out with my mum saying things and now i just ignore her.
You could try not waking (i did that and seems to be working) and see how it goes, he will prob make up for that feed at another time, but 8 weeks is still young so plenty time to get a routine settled.Let us know how Freddies weight went, i cant wait to get I weighed again as im just curious.

Christine,

I have to often wake Annalise for her 5th bottle at the back of 8ish and try to keep her awake so she takes a decent amount of it. If I don't do that, she won't sleep for as long. I think you are doing right. As we were saying the other day, people are too keen to add their ten-pence worth and they make us feel less confident about what we are doing.

I hope everyone else is having a good day and not freezing too much!
We seem to have missed the snow and yet only a couple of miles along the road, they got it bad and lost their electricity!
We have seen one or two flakes but nothing settled at all.

Well, a year ago I was sitting here with my heart pounding waiting for my all important call from GRI to give me my test result for our 2nd ICSI. Until 16th December last year when Annalise was born, the 31st March 2009 was the happiest day of my life.
It was so warm this time last year, today it's baltic! I remember we went to Little Chef for breakfast last year after watching Heston Blumenthal's programme and we hardly spoke to each other, we were so crapping it - not like us at all.
Little did we know that our beautiful big girl would be here and teething a year later,x

Hey all

Not been on for a few days, You missed me? :snigger:

Had a nightmare week with all of us catching every bug there seems to be. Iv had ear infection, flu and now sickness and diarrhea, Cant keep any food down.

TJ has been all over the place, The other night I went through 3 changes of PJ's, 3 cot changes and about 8 muslins as he was sick all night in his bed. He been totally off his milk lucky if he taking 20oz a day and his sleep is all over the place, Routine right out the window.

Tried to phone the HV today but no-one was there. He had an apt with genetics yesterday where he got weighed and measured. 15lbs 8 and has jumped from 25th to 50th and his length 67, was born on 2nd percentile and now on 91st!!! well well at least he is growing. Still worrying when he refuses all his feeds though. I think he has only took a whole 7oz bottle twice in last 3 days.

WTG everyone on the sales, I never knew about it, gutted as I love next,

Jane sorry Isla been crying more with the harness and about the snow, it has been snowing here but not laying,
WTG Lisa on the weight loss, Your doing great, I havent got on scales lately as I just want to stay in bed all the time.

Pop back later when I have a bit more time

Thanks Poppit and Pammy! How are you today, Sooz?

Pammy, Annalise is back to refusing feeds again too although not as bad as last week - think it is teething to blame though. Since last night have given Annalise half a powder about half an hour before some bottles and she seems to take it better then. Sounds like TJ is a good weight and height though and if he is sleeping through the night as normal and bright as usual, then that sounds good.
I know if this continues for us, I'm going to take A to be weighed before her next imms. It is a worry though isn't it?

Yes Lisa Im getting more worried all the time.

He isnt sleeping as long as he used to be but seems fine otherwise. I just keep trying to feed him and he is only taking 3-5 oz every 4 hours, He will maybe take 6oz in the morning, If I leave him to ask for a feed, well I havent got that far cuz I gave in after 5 and got the bottle.
There is no sign of teeth with him yet just dribbles but no red cheeks or gums.

Sooz little freddie 7kg thats what TJ was 7.2 bless their chubby little faces :snigger:

Hi guys, i just want to ask a quesion quickly then i will catch up !!

well my poor babies are poorly again so i took them back to the drs and he just said its a cold and go away. the thing is i dont want them to have antibiotics but they just keep passing it back to each other so for 4 weeks they have both been poorly and we have only had one set of jabs as we have to keep cancelling them.

anyway i will get to the point one of them after his feed at night and during the night i stop to wind him and he does a big cough like thing and brings up the whole botlel all over him , me and the carpet !!! this never happens in the morning or day time feeds and in the day he takes 7 oz most feeds but at night i have tried giving him less and it still happens now is this cos he is poorly or has he developed reflux ?? or is it too much liquid and rhats why it happens at night ??

Sacha my neice did the very same thing, comes out like a fountain and almost sounds like they trying to make themselves sick with the cough noise. She did this every feed though not just at night so thats strange, Could just be that he is ill and thats what causing it. I doubt you will get any joy from GP or HV as long as his weight gain is fine but you could ask. They normally only care if their weight seems to be affected

Sacha,

Probably because the wee ones are unwell that they are bringing back their feed.
Quite often when there is fever or just through the force of coughing, can bring on vomiting.

I know what you mean about your wee boys being constantly ill, my brother's 2 year old twins are never free of colds and the earache that usually comes with the cold. Poor wee things, the snotters are always tripping them! :snigger:

Our water is manky brown so have just spoken to water board, to run the tap for half an hour and phone them back if no better. I am due to start the steriliser again soon and am not sure what I will do if we can't use the water.

Well i had my baby free night last night and the fecking heating engineer phoned at 8.10am :bawl: So i had to get up and dressed as he was coming to disconnect one of my radiators which had a leak.

[zx245] has arrived for the 1st time since having my LO...Can't say i missed her at all and wish she would feck off again :snigger:

LO went to bed at 9pm and crashed out straight away and i haven't even needed to run up to give him his dummy, he is out for the count and snoring away  he had his last feed at 7.30pm which is early for him so he may wake for one during night.

Hope all the poorly Mummy's & Babies get well soon

She had her 12 week jabs yesterday and was unusually tearful afterwards :-( but we also got her blackout blinds fitted and the snow has stopped :D

Hey all

Went to bingo last night and won a grand woohoo Not spent it yet just wondering if I should do the sensible thing or blow it on toys for TJ :snigger:
Me and DH not getting on at all. Well he is trying to get on with me but Iv seriously had enough, Its one thing after another and I just feel I'd be so much happier and more relaxed if he wasn't here.

TJ still not 100% he keeps choking so probably has the mucus stuff I had in my throat too, poor toot. His feeding slightly better today but still not what it was.
Sorry you had to get up early B2B, we stayed in a hotel for valentines and my mum had TJ but I still woke at 7 and was out of the hotel by 9 just wanted home to see him :snigger:

Hope M is better poppit. I think the bedtime will come down on its own soon xfingers anyways.

Hope you are all well.

:weehee: Congratulations on your win Pammy . :thumbsup2: Couldn't have come at a beter time for you happydance
Sorry things are not going too well with dh. It's very common afer the first baby arrives. Mums kind of have a little love affaiir with the baby, and new dads feel a little bit jealous of the bond that mum and baby have, and feel threatened by the strength of that bond, as if the baby is taking you away from them. Young dads particularly don't know how to handle this feeling, and most are not good at speaking about their feelings, so they react by going out and leaving you with your new love.
Think carefully before you spend your winnings, don't rush out and squander it.
Janey why not get trousers or skirt with a loosish top that you can tuck Isla underneath. I think Bubble had the same problem last year . Why don't you pm her and ask what she got in the end.
How on earth did she manage to break her harness?!1

I actually wish i could win the lotto so i don't ever have to go back to work,i am dreading it already :bawl: ,not sure when i will go back the plan was October but now i am thinking off just taking the full year even though i won't get any money at all for the last 12 weeks of that. I have some savings i could use for my half of the mortgage etc, but then on the other hand if i stay off for the full year then i will feel it even harder to go back then i think. Aaargh don't know what to do ;(

LO didn't wake until 5.30am today, had a feed went back to sleep at 6.30 and slept til 11am so i did have a long lie even though i was up for an hour i managed to go back to sleep when LO did, have had a lazy day and we were at my friends tonight for our tea.

Not sure what i'm doing this weekend yet, will play it by ear. 88)

woohoo congrats on the win Pammy, sorry you and DH are having probs and hope you sort it out soon.
B2B, its tough thinking about going back to work isnt it, i need to go back in June and dreading it
chris,
I have no idea how she broke her harness, the loop which attached the bootie part was broke when DH opened up her sleep bag yesterday morning ?( she is in double nappies as due to the holiday no one was in hospital who knew where to find them (i spoke to the otho oncall registrar - well 2 of them actually) X( its going to be back to square one on Monday with her being p***d off and miserable and just when she was pretty much used to it and happy again.
I am often the same miss g and feel hungry all day, must cut down before i spoke feeding or will be huge.
poppit, hopefully M will start to go to bed earlier, is tough when you cant get time to yourself in evening.

I hardly slept at all yesterday despite us being out and about and didnt go down til 9pm, think she was a bit funny after imms.
Going to go shopping for an outfit today, hoping i get something, then meeting a friend for lunch. DH is off mountain biking as part of a stag do, was going to go to Aviemore but cant due to the snow which means he had to take the car to go up north :cross: but they will stop by house before the head down to Aviemore for tonight and quad biking tomorrow. i am dreading being in the house myself as (embarrasing as this sounds) i get scared being alone at night.
Anyway, hope everyone has a good day and has nice plans for easter Sunday

I'm a bit rough today - went out with my mate Vicky last night and drank quite alot of brandy and went to a comedy show.
Had a great time!
Water much better - had to run it for 30 mins and call thm back if no better but it cleared so all was ok,x

How is M's sleeping now, Poppit? Although A is teething for defo now, she still sleeps as normal which I'm glad of, however, I am under no illusions that it might not last forever!

Well done, Pammy on your win, that's great news and will help a bit to ease some of your recent worries. Go another couple of times, they say it comes in 3s don't they?

Jane, I hope you are not too scared tonight. I'm sure you will be fine,x

Bride2be, I know what you mean about going back to work, I know alot of us feel the same. A tidy lotto win is just what we need,x

Hope everyone is having a good weekend,x

Hi everyone, not been on in ages and its going to take forever to catch up so excuse the lack of personals!

Just a wee update - took E on her first holiday. She and her wee chum were good as gold! Was great having the two babies together, even seemed to sometimes chat together. Very cute

Got back last monday and started E on solids. Its fair to say shes loving her grub! Takes the spoon herself and shovels it in(with a little help of course!). Shes eaten carrots, sweet potato, peas, parsnip, potatoes, banana, apple, pear and her fav of all MANGO! Had her 1st proper poo today. That was a daddy nappy and i was upset I didnt get to see :snigger:

Hope everyone is well. Will catch up on all the news later

I'm glad your holiday went well, Lizzy.

It also sounds like E is getting to enjoy her new experience with food.
In fact, you have given me some new ideas of what A might like when she starts.
I'm not a great mango lover but would certainly try it for A.

We went a lovely 5 mile walk thias afternoon - DH, A, Alfie and me, it was lovely, xxxx

Lisa, that sounds like a fab goodie bag from your Dad :D hope your feeling better after your night out, sounds like you had a fab time whoch is great and well deserved  well done on the 5 mile walk, you must be so fit now
Lizzy, thats fab E is on solids and im sure you will get plenty of those 'real poo' nappies, glad you had a good holiday :D

I went into town today and got a top for the wedding, its nice and loose but also a bit dressy so happy with that (although was tempted to get a new skirt as well but didnt have my size). met my friend and her bloke for lunch which was yummy but we seem to have hit tourist season already whihc i know is good for the area but hard to walk as people just stop dead and start taking pics and i crashed into 3 groups of people doing that today with the pram.

I am so so missing DH and I was confused tonight as to why he wasnt bathing her, had a funny 'this isnt right' look on her face :snigger:
going to pickl him up tomorroww and hopefully go for a walk if its not too snowy

Hope everyone enjoys their choccie eggs tomorrow

Good Luck tomorrow Sharbara, hope it all goes well.

I'm really annoyed tonight, it's probably just my pmt lol but my hubby's daughter is here tonight and i was getting a feed ready for LO and he was crying because he was hungry and she was sitting there saying oh he is just such a cry baby, well i just glared at her :shush: . Actually he cries when tired or hungry but to be honest the rest of the time he is fine he is such a happy wee soul. She had already hacked me off because she keeps calling him Owen :cross: :cross: :cross: his name is Dylan ffs,she stayes twice a week so knows fine his name!! She has a cousin called Owen and the first time she said it her Dad laughed so i think she just does it on purpose now  Grrr, anyway rant over :)

I'm going over to My Mum's tomorrow with hubby & LO after he takes his daughter home, she is going home early as has a party to go to.

Hope everyone has a nice Easter.

lol B"B my sons keep calling their dad dave which is their step father and it really hacks him off so i know what you mean....you'll have to start calling her someone elses name!
sharon hope it all goes well at work for you

i had my first baby free day today. bubs was still asleep when i left...he'd slept right through not even woke up for a top up - though i did!! his god parents (twins) babysat him as i was going to see my sick friend. shes in hospital as shes got pneumonia and her tumor has grown :( she was surprisingly chirpy too which was good. while we were down there DH sold his race car. was difficult manoevering the van n trailer through dudley as they had the EDL/AUF rally the amount of police and helicopters and there was only 9 arrests. overkill i thought but hey ho! bubs was okay at first but was quieter than normal as the wins usually babysit for an hour or so not all day so i think he was missing us!
hes had babyrice tonight and it went down a treat. hes on between 6/7 8oz bottles.
hes had his 'dreamtime bath' and is now in bed.
hope everyones okay and has a good weekend :)

hes a dreamtime baby and he's having a dreamtime bath, he's a dreamtime baby and he's having a little laugh xxx thats what we say whilst hes in the bath and he has a kick and a big grin lol

Lol Poppit i had thought about that, she's 6 1/2 going on 40 and i think half the time she repeats what her twat of a mother fills her head with, which is a shame. I mind when DH phoned to say he would take his daughter to hospital to see me when i had LO,Ex said well i hope she had a girl or your daughter is going to be mega disappointed WTF,imagine saying that eh,well i expect it all from her now to be honest,it's just a shame she has to fill her wee girls head full of shit too.

Oooh good for you having a baby free day too,i bet you missed him though eh!

Hiya,

hope everyone had a good Easter weekend.
Isla was in a good mood after breaking her harness on Friday but was v moody yesterday when it got put back on, scary part was consultant was in surgery so others fitted it, well they failed and i had to tell them the best way to put it on (while I was screaming) - scary you would think they would know, they also gave me a spare and tried to tell me how to fit it properly, thhink i could figure it out better than them. Its not eeasy though and very badly designed from a usability point of view (i work in medical devices and its almost embarrasing that this could be designed so badly - hope people dont think this about my work products, but to be honest i think they must do) :snigger:

Its raining today so not sure what to do - i miss my Tuesday group (second week without it due to holidays), if rain goes off will walk to shops (about a 45 min walk to nearest shop).
take care all

Happy 3 months, Isla! clap

Hope everyone had a good easter. I went out a lovely big walk with DH, Annalise and Alfie on Saturday, it was lovely.
I went a big power walk on Sunday with my Weight Watcher buddies. I managed to walk 5.3 miles in 1hr and 20 mins! I was knackered after though. We went to my brother's for dinner after which was nice.
Yesterday I went to Weight Watchers and I lost another 4 pounds this week! That's me now got my 10% weight loss and have lost just over a stone and a half in 8 weeks. I have a feeling the rest won't come off as quick but not to worry, alot of my clothes are fitting me again so that is a big bonus.

It's chucking it down with rain today. DH left me the car this morning as I have to go and see the accountant this morning to get Tax Credits sorted out. Other than that, I'm doing nowt else, just entertaining a certain little girlie, xxxx
