Can anyone help please :) What size should my twins be at 14+ weeks?

I'm expecting twins and just over 14 weeks. Am just wondering if anyone knows the size the babies should be, from what i have been reading mine are small. When I had my 12 week scan the babies measured 51.3mm and 53.4 mm and am worried that this is to small. Am so confused as nearly everthing I have read seems to be about single pregancies. Any help would be gratefull :S

hi narla,

never had a twin pg, arent you lucky  ? but just checked back on my 12 wks scan and the measurements for i live feotus inutero is crown to rump 59.3 mm.

so surely, it stands to reason that with 2 inside your measurements logically speaking are very good. Did the cons or nurses say anything to make you worried, cos if they didnt have any concerns then i dont think you should really have a lot to be concerned about.

but dont quote me as i've never had twins, but measurements sound good to me.

maybe mavis or bge will be along soon to reassure you.

hi narla

i know why mavis didnt pop along to reassure you now, she was busy in hospital having her babies.

i understand completely still getting over the shock and its all a bit of rollercoaster ride, it does get better, honestly. we were told we couldnt have babies without icsi, which we had got a beautiful cheeky naughty 2 yr old for my trouble  then had 2nd round of icsi, got a pos but sadly m/c. 2 months later went to the drs with urine infection, got asked if i could be pg told her no in no uncertain terms, got home did a pg test and nearly fell down the toilet when it came out positive. this one is completely natural with a bloke who has everything wrong with his sperm and its only now (16+4 weks pg) i am beginning to accept that i actually am pg.

the weights of your babies sound good to me. there isnt as much room with 2 so there not going to be as big as single baby. but if you are really worried, i would suggest making an appt with your own m/w and she might be able to reassure you better than i ever could.

i see my m/w nearly every week, because she said i could simply to listen in on its heartbeat. paranoia kicks in sometimes, because i never expected it to be here, i keep thinking silly stuff and have to hear its heart beating to make sure its ok.

hope everything goes well for you.

take care

Hi there Narla, Congrats on your 'twice as nice' double bump!

I have been desperatley rummaging around trying to find my measurements but can't for the life of me. I'm sure they are fine though as if the docs have any concerns they would say! I will continue to try and hunt them down though!

Thank you. Think I am just worrying to much with everything we have gone through to get this far, keep thinking the worst. Still got another 4 weeks till next scan so very anxious now to make sure they are both still going strong.

Congrats on your twin boys lindichick :)

Yeah I think Mavis might have had more things to think about than answering my post lol.

Congrats to you as well thejadematthews I bet it was a shock. This is our 2nd icsi first one we had I wasnt very positive about but this last one I just seemed to have a feeling that everything was going to work out this time its strange how very different I felt. Tbh didnt need to do the test cause I knew it had worked lol dont ask me how I just did, would have bet a years wages on it. :)

Hi Narla, I found my measurements, but they aren't much use because I had measurements at 10+5 and 13+1, and mine are rather on the large side. But I have a little graph in my 'Mutterpass' (that's a booklet thing you get in Germany that everything is recorded in during the pregnancy), and at 12 weeks, it looks as though the average is 54 or 55mm, but if you include the 5th and 95th percentiles it looks as though it goes from about 43mm to about 66mm, so that would make both of yours well within range, so please try not to worry  .

hi narla...

My twinnies at 11+4 measured 54mm and 50mm - the sonographer said that the 54mm was the equivalent of 12 weeks and the 50mm one was about right for 11+4.
