Is it or isn't it???!!!

Hello,

Just a bit of advice please!!!

I've read the thread about how did your labour start.

I've been haing pains in stomach at the top and down the sides and a bit of cramping pain for a couple of days now. It doesn't last long but it does come and go. Now I had one while I was hooked up on the CTG machine today and the Toco bit went up to 45% and then went back down again to about 6%.

I told the midwife about the pain and she asked how far I was and then if I think I could be starting?!?! Now I thought that the pains were going to be more painful than this. I mean, they do make me go 'Oooooh' but I thought it was growing pains!

I'm 37 weeks tomorrow!!!

I've not had a show (I don't think, I go to the loo in the dark at night!)

That's often how labour begins, you may 'niggle' for a few days or a few weeks before anything happen as your uterus contracts and your cervix gets ready. Even the beginning of labour can be nothing more than 'uncomfortable' for a lot of ladies. By the time you are in established labour (when you're 3cm dilated or more) things tend to be more painful, when you get to the stage where you have to stop in your tracks, hold onto the furniture and can do nothing more than breathe during a pain, then you're on your way and it's then that you need to be making tracks to the hospital.

I knew I could rely on you Bells! You are a fountain of pregnancy knowledge and I love you. Please come live with me till the baby is out and I know what I'm doing!!??

Soooooo, it could actually be starting and I may be able to avoid an induction!!! Providing that baby doesn't mess about and gets a wriggle on!!!

Gonna get some bd'ing tonight again to make sure!!!

lmao Flic

Yes this sounds like how mine started too, I had this for a few nights but my induction was booked and I wasnt left long enough for it to progress any further so sounds to me like things kicking off, They arent sore but enough to know what they are.
I really hope things progress in next few days and you dont need the induction, Hope the BD'ing helps :snigger:

Hi Pammy!

I don't have a date for induction yet so hopefully I'll beat it!!

Got woken up with one pain in the night so we'll see how today goes.

Ooooo Flic, how exciting! I can't offer you any words of wisdom having never been in labour before but from what Bells and Pammy say, this could be it for you. I do hope so as I know you were hoping to avoid induction. Come on little one, get things moving! I'll pop on later to see if there's any progress. For the mean time, take it easy and go with the flow.
