When is the best time to have a 4D Scan?

I've booked one at Babybond for 14th Feb when I will be 26+4 but I'm wondering if it's a bit too early. On their website they say from 24-32 weeks and I've googles 4D Scans at the same stage as mine and they seem ok but just wondering if it's better to hang on and have a couple of weeks later?

I'd say that's the perfect time hun!

I had mine at 25 weeks and it was great, we got to see so much detail. If you wait too late then it's harder to see stuff as there is less room for baby to move and less fluid.

Most places recommend no earlier than 25 weeks, so you should be fine

28 - 31 weeks is best - I am having mine a week tomorrow. We are going to a new place in Barnsley called Babyview - look it up on the net cos they are alot cheaper than other ones I found (Leeds, Bradford etc) My friend went last week for hers and said they were brilliant. They charge £99 as opposed to the £160 + I was quoted.

I never thought I'd have one of these, although they are amazing they are also a bit weird and creepy, seeing such a lot of detail and knowing its your baby! I am changing my mind though and think I might go for it now after reading about people's fantastic experiences. Think I'll leave it til about 27 weeks though based on all your comments.

I ended up not having a 4D scan - not because I didn't want it but because I ran out of time. I initially thought I would not have the funds and then I found that I would (gift) but when I phoned up to book the only opening was for when I would have been about 30 weeks and over here they say to have it between 25 and 28 weeks. Earlier you don't get to see enough and later they say you can't see as clearly as baby is starting to run out of room and there is less fluid around baby making the image less clear...

Of course that was 3 years ago so new technology may mean that it is now possible to do them till later...

We are sooooo excited, having our 3d/4d scan this saturday and i will be 26+4

I was told by the lovely guy at the Babyscan in Cosham, nr Portsmouth that this time was great as there would still be some room for baby to move.

Good luck everyone with your scans

Hi All

We had our 3d/4d scan today and it was absolutely AMAZING!!!!!

I'm 26+4 today and apart from 'our girl' being a dancing queen and hardly staying still for 1 second the pictures and dvd was fabulous. The sonographer certainly earnt her money today !!

Ive added a pic.

Hope you enjoy your scan's as much as we did
