TTC again for nearly 2 years - wanting to keep an emotional balance

Hi Jess, I've just typed a message which seems to have disappeared! Just wanted to wish you the best of luck with your journey. I understand what you are going through as many on here will. Perhaps having some counselling with someone who specialises in infertility/ fertility may help? Take care, love, macD xx

Low progestrone levels but not having the gestone injections!! Am worried

Hi Mistykins, I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your question, I hope someone comes along soon who does. Probably best to check it with your clinic and ask them to explain it. Best of luck with it all. Take care, love, macD xx

7 weeks tomorrow and still no morning sickness

Hi kittenlove, Easier said than done but try not to worry about symptoms, some people don't get any at all! The fact that you feel anxious/worried about not being pregnant can actually be a symptom! Hope you feel better soon and best of luck. Take care, love, macD xx

Very concerned - please help!

Hi Princesslittlehead, This TTC drives you potty! If you're anything like me, you end up analysing every single little thing that your body is doing and no one can really tell you what is "normal"! I have no idea if my AF is normal or not, I also have very little bleeding...I only ever need panty liners/ the lightest tampons. I'm pretty regular though. Ask the docs again at your next appointment, if they say it's normal ask them to explain why they think that (but be reassured at the same time!)...

IVF treatment notes

Hello anyone, I've just about given up all hope of ever conceiving again, although we're still trying "naturally". I had treatment in November/December at a private clinic (IVF/ICSI) which didn't work out (got to embryo transfer then BFN at the end of 2ww). I/we can't even face going back to the clinic for a follow up appointment (my DH hated going there in the first place!). I was just wondering where I stand in asking for my notes/records of the treatment I had and if they had any advice as to...

Totally shocked by follow up appointmnet, not sure what to think

Hi Pringles, I'm really sorry about your loss. This must be so stressful for you. Also I'm appalled at the unprofessional way you have been treated by both your GP and NHS Consultant. If you can face it then definitely make a complaint (about both of them), you should not have been treated like that. Try and write everything down, dates and times and who you saw so that you have the evidence. I can't really give you any advice about taking clomid I'm afraid, but I can understand your frustration...

Natural Progesterone Boosters?

Hi Rockchick, Thanks for posting this, I've been thinking along similar lines myself. I've not been on FZ much these days as trying to accept that things may never work out again, but it's so hard to give up all hope! Hopefully someone will be along soon with some answers. I've heard about yams before but don't really know anything about them. Good luck to everyone. Take care, love, macD xx

Are ONLY children lonely children?..

Hi Tabby, Thank you so much for posting this, it's been great for me to read the other replys too! I have 1 DS who is 4.5. DH and I have been TTC again for 3.5 with no success. Pootle made some very sensible comments. I too feel that sometimes we're TTC mainly for DS, I know he might not get on with this sibling (should there ever be one) but I feel that he should at least be given the chance to find out! Sometimes I'm ok with it and I know DS gets on very well with other children and is a very ...

New on the site

Hi Busybee76, Just wanted to wish you the best of luck with your journey. This website is brilliant, I'm sure you'll get a lot of support on here. We've been TTC since Sept 07 (already have 1 DS). Have only had 1 IVF/ICSI cycle (sadly it didn't work for us). I'm sure you'll find loads of people on here who can help you through all this, it can be such a stressful time and having someone who understands what you're going through is invaluable. Take care, love, macD xx

Feel like such a crap mum :(

Hi RockChick, Just going back to diet. I used the Annabel Karmel book. I didn't do all the recipes but found it a good source of information as to what they should be having. Are you vegetarian by the way? As for the HV being able to empathise, well I guess it's a very individual thing. As a midwife I didn't feel I did a bad job before I had DS. I just find now that I have a bit more to talk about, but I wouldn't say I was a better midwife because of it! Everyone is different. Good luck with eve...

Refusing bottles

Hi Gracie, It could be teeth (they get blamed for a lot!). Have you tried using a cup? Some babies have more success using a cup than a bottle. Good luck. Take care, love, macD xx

Hi hopeful h, Sorry, but I just can't recommend the brown sugar thing!! Does your DS feed well at the breast? How often is he feeding? Does he seem well in himself? Is he straining to have a poo or not bothered at all? BF babies can sometimes go for quite a long time without a poo and this can be normal. Have you changed your diet at all? If he seems generally well then I probably wouldn't worry too much. If you're concerned though, get advice from HV or GP. Good luck! Take care, love, macD xx

Feel like such a crap mum :(

Hi rockchick, I agree with Bells about the formula. My DS refused to BF after just over 3 months and we ended up giving formula for a while (until he refused that!). I was absolutely devastated and cried almost every time I had to give him the bottle. I did put a lot of unnecessary pressure on myself though (what with being a midwife and all that!) My point is, when DS was having formula, he STILL woke up throughout the night! So on my experience (and of course everyone is different and entitled...

Whats the next step when clomid doesnt work?

Hi maliah09, Sorry I can't answer your question, I had 6 months of clomid 50mg, then eventually went on to have IVF/ICSI (didn't get pregnant). I just wanted to wish you luck with your journey. I'm sure someone will be along soon who can give you an answer. Take care, love, macD xx

Feel like such a crap mum :(

Dear RockChick, OMG, I empathise so much with you! My DS was exactly the same! He never slept in the daytime and woke up every hour at night, only falling asleep with a BF. I had to do something because I was going back to work (working night shifts!) and my husband couldn't BF him to sleep obviously! This was when he was about 9 months. We ended up going to see a Health Visitor who specialised in sleep (or lack of it!) I can't remember the exact details but it was a bit like controlled crying. ...

Swollen & sore Armpits?????

Hi Taxihome, Not sure I can answer this one. It could be mammary glands (they can go as far as your armpits) which would be nothing to worry about. Probably best to mention it next time you see your doctor. Take care, love, macD xx

clomid prescription

Hi, just a quick question. Is it possible to get clomid on prescription from your GP or does it have to be through a Consultant? Thanks, macD xx
