Pincushion Pals - Multiple IVFers yet to have a BFP

Hi hun, I noticed you have bled early, I did on my first three too! Can I ask what progesterone you are on? I found Gestone to be better for stopping the early bleed, but that of course doesn't deal with clotting. In also have clotting issues, PAI-1. I'm on a couple of drugs for that. I think all our finances are in shreds, but it will be worth it in the end. I really hope September goes well for you.... and October even better. Welcome to this section and hope you'll be posting positive news so...

Pincushion Pals - Multiple IVFers yet to have a BFP

After my fourth cycle my periods were completely off... took about 4-5 months to regulate again. Drs never worried but offered the pill to regulate again. The did sort themselves out. I can't offer advice on whether you are peri menopausal, although with regular bleeds still and no other symptoms, I wouldn't have thought so. It could be hormones playing up. Still, it could be worth a chat with your consultant to check. They might be able to recommend something, and most of all, hopefully ease yo...

Pincushion Pals - Multiple IVFers yet to have a BFP

CB - Whilst my AMH appears ok, I have quality issues, part evidenced by slow development (not an issue on first three cycles) and the fact it's getting harder it to extract the eggs. I've had five goes with no hint of success and the numbers of eggs are falling. I also have high LH at the start of cycles - nearly 10 even with priming. Also, my mother started her menopause at my age. I can't help thinking if only I had had the Metformin and immunology drugs when I first started IVF things may hav...

Pincushion Pals - Multiple IVFers yet to have a BFP

Well, we had a follow up and it's as I thought. Likelihood is that I am heading for premature ovarian failure! The Dr has suggested we may want to try one last time and push to blast irrespective of numbers. We would have only a 50% chance of getting to transfer. After that it's donor. Whilst I knew this I am pretty numb at the moment. I had been preparing myself for a long time to hear this. I am ok with donor eggs, especially as I get to carry my baby and to be there to comfort them at birth a...

Pincushion Pals - Multiple IVFers yet to have a BFP

Hi there. Early bleeding no longer the issue. The Gestone and immune drugs appear to have done the trick. No further immune tests since the weight loss..... and I'm with a normal BMI now. Not sure if there would be any difference to the treatment even if the results were different. Not sure what's next at all. I just need to try and pick myself up. Depending on what the doctor says, we may even decide to go for donor eggs and sperm or donor embryos. Then there are considerations over fresh and f...

Waiting on the clinic ktb! I've had three IUIs and four IVFs so far. What was your NK result? Good luck with the new tests. I need to take a leaf out of your book with pushing clinics and staying positive. xx

Good luck Tania and have a wonderful celebration! I'm not having any majore changes next time. Just that I am on Metformin now. The cycle will be another immunology one, and I'm hoping for a short cycle but that depends on my body and hormones! I'll also be taking the folic a little earlier. There may be further changes but the drs will advise closer to the start. Fingers crossed for you, Sam x

Good luck hun. I am in the throws of organising future treatment so no success for me yet! As for clexane, I think it's preferred to take it at the same time each day. As for morning or evening, I don't think it really matters. Fingers crossed x

MENOPUR QUESTIONS

Lots of failures (and never getting ill) promt people to look at immunology. I've also got psoriasis, which is kind of auto immune. You can ask the question, but many clinics don't support it. It's not widely tested or reported on either. Difficulty is how do you test this? Who would enter into a fertility trial with a potential placebo as there is too much at risk. As I say hun, some regard it as 'witchcraft' and it isn't for everyone. The more detailed tests are pretty expensive too. You can p...

MENOPUR QUESTIONS

Hi hun. Well I have had four IVFs, two short protocol and two long. First I was on 150 Gonal F (long), 7 eggs, 5 fertilised, 2 put back. Second (short) on a bit higher, 14 eggs I think, 13 fertilised but still only 2 good enough for transfer, round three (short) on 225-300, 7 eggs, 4 fertilised I think, 2 transferred and the last round was a shocker! Lots of follies but only two mature eggs, one transferred - this was on 300-450 dose (but a long protocol with too much DR I think). I have a low A...

MENOPUR QUESTIONS

Why not ask your GP if he or she will do the test for you? I had mine done in the clinic - I can't remember what the cost was I'm afraid. If you are happy with everything else, and you've responded ok, it's not a big issue. How your body responds is the most important. Have they suggested anything to perhaps help implantation? Loving the cougar reference. I'm soon to be 37, so being referred to as young makes me smile! Keep trying - if you are happy with the clinic, just go with the flow. O, and...
