7 week old - crying for bottle then crying when given bottle??

Hi Pushoz, I am the original poster on this thread and I completely feel your pain .. but I don't think that what you are experiencing is uncommon. My little one willbe 6 months on Feb 1st, she has never drunk more than a 5 oz bottle. She has 5 bottles a day and most of them are like 120 mls (4 oz). She was diagnosed with reflux, but that was a load of crap ... the issue was that baby was exhausted because she was not napping enough, so when the afternoon came she was absolutely hysterical when ...

7 week old - crying for bottle then crying when given bottle??

I went to a GP yesterday with her and he reckoned that it was mild colic and as long as she is gaining weight that she is okay. Said that her gut was probably in spasm as she is taking bigger feeds the last few days .. The last 24 hours have been a lot better. I think Flic has hit the nail on the head and that she is going through a growth spurt. She uis taking bigger amounts and going for longer - she is actually making it beyond three hours - went for 5 hours for the first time last night. I h...

7 week old - crying for bottle then crying when given bottle??

DD is 6 weeks 5 days old. She is having Aptimal - and normally feeds every 3 - 4 hours. Occasionally she will look for a bottle from 2 hours - but we try to distact her by holding her on the shoulder or rocking her to sleep etc until we get her to the 3 hours. As long as she is not bawling and inconsoleable. We have had a few instances where she has appeared starving - the hungry cry but then will only take 50mls (not even 2 oz). Then she will absolutely bawl if the bottle is put in her mouth. I...

SECOND TRIMESTER CHAT - 2010

Jamielou - Was thinking about you and hoping all was going well. Pleased that you got legal advise on this. Please try not to worry. You are out of the situation now for 8 weeks which is certified. Put your feet up and don't think about that shower of complete tossers again. By the time you have to face them again they will be drinking out of your tea cup, on your terms. The cheek of them altogether treating you like that when you are pregnant! It doesn't matter what the granularities of the sit...

Unsuccessful on Clomid

Best of luck Betty Boop. Hopefully these will give you some sort of a result. Sorry that my reply before was so short. Just to say that Clomid does not suit everyone at all. Your consultant isn't correct to say that you "have" to be ovulating on Clomid. I had a wonderful progesterone level on Clomid. In my day 21 test I got 80, that was up from 13. But I never got pregnant on the stuff. My consultant changed me to a drug called Nolvadex which is similar to Clomid. I got pregnant the first month ...

SECOND TRI - Movements and kicks

I had been feeling movements for about 2 weeks - but that stopped about 5 days ago. Only the very odd movement now. Tried drinking ice cold water etc but it makes no difference. I think everything is okay - just suspect that Bubba is in a different position now so I only feel weaker and less frequent movement. Going to the GP this evening as I rang this morning to ask and she wants to put some sort of "machine" on me. I assume it is just a fetal dobbler to check the heart beat is there.

SECOND TRIMESTER CHAT - 2010

Yeeee Hawwwww - its the week-end! Jasper - hope you've re-couped some energy by now. It comes in phases doesn't it. I just got a few loose fitting shirts and they aren't too frumpy. 2Mums - I had really itchy (.)(.) at about 16 weeks. Went to the pharmacy and was mortified trying to ask for something for me itchy boobs! Sounds like yours is pretty uncomfortable - and would second the advise already received (+1 @ Aiwah). Jamielou - that is a horrendous place that you work - God almighty! But its...

SECOND TRIMESTER CHAT - 2010

kaborex - great to hear from you. You won't be too bad if baby kaborex keeps that timetable when in the outside world! Aiwah - excellent news on the scan. One of each, you must both be delighted. I think you are dead right about my case of shoulder pain last week. I had probably overdone the walking a bit hoping to shake out the sciatica. I hope you SPD stays manageable for you now - its a nuisance getting it isn't it. Michy - a baby boy! Yeah - congratulations. Don't worry about DD - they get f...

Sciatica

Hi Girls, thanks for all the replies. I think I have been lucky on this one, the pain has gradually eased over the last few days. Its almost completely gone. What I have found useful is the exercise the yoga teacher gave on Saturday. To put the leg with sciatica with the ankle on the knee of the other leg. I also do pelvic tilts. I'll tell you, there was nothing like the pain of it - obviously whatever position the baby was in. WD

SECOND TRIMESTER CHAT - 2010

Hi, 2Mums - I startted feeling proper flutters @ 17 weeks but didn't really know if they were Bubba. Up until a few days ago I was lucky to get a tap every second day. It is only in the last few days that I have been feeling a fair bit of movement every day. Atthe scan on Friday I was amazed at how much Bubba was moving - summersaults etc and I was lying there feeling none of it. Give booble a couple of weeks to perfect the punches ;-) Jamielou - don't worry - you'll feel it soon .. Ladybug - I ...

SECOND TRIMESTER CHAT - 2010

BellaP - Hope all is going well for you and the wee one. Michy - I have a few bottles of Fre downstairs that DH bought. Its not bad taste wize but be careful - it can give very bad indigestion as it is quite acidic. There is a non alco Champagne that is much nicer - I'll get the name of it later on and post it. Tastes like the real thing. 2Mums - I was thinking of getting same CD for our doggies. Its supposed to be brilliant. I can only imagine what its like - loads of ga ga goooo goooo noises a...

confusing midwives!

Hey there, sorry that these two centres cannot make their minds up. I think you're right to bring someone with you - because we're all a little vulnerable at the moment.Someone objective will be able to ask questions and get to the root of it. At one of our appointments last week DH did the same - asked a couple of questions which I hadn't considered at the time - but DH knew I'd ask later! Try not to worry hun

Sciatica

Hi Girlies, I know that a lot of people get sciatica when pregnant. I think I have it for the last few days. Been having a lot of pain down my left bum/arse/buttock! It is agony when turning over in bed and I can't even load the washing machine because if I bend forward too far it is excrutiatingly painful. Was at the doctor on Friday and mentioned it, she more or less smirked at me. Seems fixated on the fact that I am marginally overweight - so of course ANYTHING that happens must be weight rel...
