UTI treatment in 1st trimester - Trimethoprim???

Hi , I suffered constantly from UTIs before I got pregnant and was at my wits end until I discovered D-Mannose. A natural sugar that coats the lining of the bladder and flushes out the bacteria when you go to the loo. It was like a miracle cure for me and by all accounts perfectly safe to take during pregnancy. Google it and see what you think. I was on and off antibiotics for years. No more antibiotics for me. D mannose cured me!

Pain in cervix

many thanks for your replies. I saw consultant today and he just said that sometimes the cervix is extra sensitive and can bleed. I will phone midwife anyhow on monday and I'm going to have cervix length checked on tuesday. LEETZ is wire loop diathermy where they burn away some of the entrance to cervix. I remember that when i had it done they took the maximum amount they could and no more otherwise I may have difficulties with having children. Oh, and BTW, the scan today showed a healthy baby! ...

Pain in cervix

hi all, I'm 12 weeks pregnant today and for the past 4 weeks I've been feeling what I can only describe as a tender cervix. Sometimes there is a shooting pain and then nothing. No bleeding except a tiny amount following sex on one occasion. I've had a LEETZ done for CIN 3 seven years ago and I'm paranoid that my cervix is not going to be strong enough to hold the baby in the 2nd trimester. I can't wait for my scan next tuesday when they will be measuring the length of my cervix. Does anyone else...

Cats and pregnancy/babies

I've got a bengal and there is no way I'm getting rid of him ! I'm trying to be more vigilante and not letting him on bed and washing my hands after stroking him. He goes to toilet outside so that's one worry less. The trouble I'm facing is that he is into everything. My parents have a pram at theirs for when my nephew stays. My cat goes over to parents occasionally to hunt their rabbits...found him asleep in cot...wasn't happy at all with that. Will have to get cat net and locks on doors to mak...

Wire loop diathermy in past might cause 2nd trimester miscarriage??

Another dilemma I'm afraid!! I had this treatment (otherwise known as LEETZ) back in 2002 for CIN stage 3 pre cancerous cells on cervix. I've read that it can cause an incompetent cervix and the chances of miscarrying in 2nd trimester or a stillbirth is a reality. Has anyone had this treatment? I'm going to ask the Dr for regular cervix checks throughout just in case.....

Dilemma.....do I tell them at interview I'm pregnant?

I've been working as a locum for the NHS for a little while. The place I'm at currently wants me to apply for the permanent position. I've been looking for the right job to come up for ages and now it has. I know that in interview i have a good chance of getting it. Trouble is that I'm 6 weeks pregnant. I know I'm not obliged to tell anyone until 15 weeks but I do have a conscience about this and feel like I'm being deceptive? My due date is may and i plan for 6 months off. I will get maternity ...

over 35years of age? How long did it take you to get pregnant with your first?

I know ! I was in shock when i got those last results! The highest my progesterone had been before was 35.5 (off clomid) and 37 (on clomid) . I wonder why the dramatic increase now? That was the first FSH test i had done. I was in raptures about both. Yes, I am considering IUI as an option before IVF. I have to wait for years for any type of assisted conception so will have to pay for this privately. I live in kent so will ask my NHS consultant (have my 3 month review this tues) if there is a go...

over 35years of age? How long did it take you to get pregnant with your first?

hi Thanks for your message. I've already had 4 rounds of 50mg clomid. Had to come off it as it was driving me crazy! The good news is that my recent FSH levels are 4.3 and progesterone is 50 without clomid so no need to be on it really. Now 10 months of trying and still nothing. I'm really thinking its the age thing

over 35years of age? How long did it take you to get pregnant with your first?

hi Thanks for all your replies. I've already had all the tests done through a private consultant and more recently i have been to see an NHS consultant as i fear things may become expensive if we're talking about IVF. I know its about not stressing and its such a waiting game but its soooo frustrating isn't it?!

over 35years of age? How long did it take you to get pregnant with your first?

Hi all AF has showed up again. Its been 9 months now and no BFP I'm wondering if its my age? I'm 37. DF and myself have had all the tests done and everything is normal. I'm getting really down and every month of trying now seems so prescriptive when i'm resigning myself to a BFN at the end of it

really need advice....no period.....on clomid 2nd round and negative hpt

Hi all Its driving me to distraction at the moment. I expected AF last monday or tues. I had ALL the usual signs and all week I've been rushing to the toilet thinking its about to come on but nothing. I've had a pain in my right lower side since then. Its more of a discomfort and is sometimes sharp but tolerable. Something is definately going on down there. I took two hpts the 2nd and third day of period and one today. ALl negative. What is going on??? The first round of clomid was fine. I came ...
