Straining when doing a poo

Hi girls, Can you help? DD has just gone 1. I wouldn't say it was full blown constipation as she is doing a poo but is straining sometimes and worried it may get worse. She's just done one and went red in the face and then started crying, never done that before. Now that she's eating a wide variety of foods I'm noticing the poos are getting bigger and smellier!! Any suggestions? Like I say she is doing them but it's just getting a bit uncomfortable for her when she's doing it as they're a big lu...

£15 Sun Holidays-Park recommendations please

Hi Girls, I'm collecting the tokens and never been on one before. There will be me, DH and DD who's 1 next month and my mum might be coming with us. We don't mind where we go although thought Cornwall would be a bit too far for us (we're in Birmingham) for a 3/4 night break. Can you recommend anywhere please?

Single Palmer Crease

Hi there, really sorry I can't offer any help I'm afraid. I've never heard of this and at my DD's checks the Dr never said they were checking for it or even looked at her palms from what I can gather. Seems very strange that they can decipher whether someone's going to be criminal from a crease on their hand? I wouldn't take any notice of what you read on Wikepedia, anyone can write on there so you're probabaly not geting actual proven medical evidence. I know it's easy for me to say but as long...

Can someone help me with my holiday entitlement please?

Finally I know! I've actually got 17 1/2 days to book as one of the bank holidays falls on Tuesday 28th December (when I will be working) so that is taken off the entitlement. Thats good! When I was working full time I got 20 days (4 weeks) and now I'm doing part time it will amount to nearly 6 weeks! Guess I was confused because before we moved offices my colleague worked 3 days a wk only got 12 days entitlement (she does Mon, Tues,Wed so gets the benefit of the bank hols) Good job I don't work...

Can someone help me with my holiday entitlement please?

Hi yes, I will be working 3 days, Tues, Wed and Thurs. When they said 18 1/2 days inclusive of bank hols I took it to mean I'd got 10 1/2 days to have when I wanted as there are 8 bank hols and they were including them. HR dept said they work it out by 20 days +3 days (in place of the Tuesdays we used ot have off after some of the bank hols) + 8 bank hols = 31 days then divide it by 5 (number of days in week) and times it by 3 )days I will work = 18 1/2? All I want to know is if this 18 1/2 days...

Possible redundancy/flexible working turned down

Hi ladies, sorry I got it sorted a few days ago. It's complicated but the company that have taken over ours have also taken over another firm and in June we will all move into one big office. I happened to find out from a colleague that the receptionist at this other office only worked Mon and Fri and that they had a temp to cover the other 3 days so I suggested that I job share with her and we wouldn't need the temp. They agreed (how could they not!) they didn't even know about this, I knew the...

9 months old and decided to go on a hunger strike!

Hi ladies, sorry for hijacking the thread but found this interesting. I haven't had DD weighed for a while either and I've recently dropped a bottle so she only has one in the morning and one before bed. The reason I've done this is because she didn't seem interested in the mid afternoon one. She is now having about 12-14 oz a day but she has cheese and a yogurt every day so do you think this is enough calcium?

Can someone help me with my holiday entitlement please?

Hi girls, I am due back to work on Thursday 8th April, I have had 12 months of on maternity leave. While I have been off my company has been taken over by another firm (I work for a firm of solicitors). Before I worked full time. The takeover happened at Xmas. I was sent an introduction to the new place and given a flexible working form. I will be working as receptionist (as I was before) but our old office has now gone and we have a few offices, I will be working at one of these. I will be work...

TTC and blocked tube

Hi there, I'm sorry you're feeling so down. I only have one tube (not through ectopic, I had a cyst removed and when I came round the dr told me that it was growing on my tube so had it have it removed) anyway I asked at the time (this was a few years ago) whether I would still be able to conceive naturally and he said yes but it may take longer. Well thats exactly what happened. No comfort to you I suppose but yes it definitley can happen. I remember being told that you probably only ovulate ev...

Possible redundancy/flexible working turned down

Hi Jen, thanks for that, useful. They won't budge on the job share so I have 3 options, go back full time, appeal or be made redundant. Don't want to go back full time, don't particularly want to appeal but think i may have to.

Possible redundancy/flexible working turned down

Hi girls, Don't know whether anyone can help? Just looking for a bit of advice really. Was due back to work on the 6th April from maternity leave. Have had 12 months off. Before I left I didn't tell work that I wanted to do 3 days. About September a colleague told me there were rumours that we were merging with another company (I work for a firm of Solicitors) I started emailing my boss then to ask about working part time and he told me that we were merging but he couldn't do anything about my h...

Nappy rash

Hi girls, Am a bit worried about lo's bum. She has had a rash (don't know if you would call it nappy rash) on her bum for the last 3/4 days, its red, a bit spotty on both sides of her bum but there are bits of broken skin. I am worried that I'm causing this by something I'm doing/or not doing wrong. Its not bothering her at all. I use Pampers nappies but they don't seem to be irritiating her, have recently gone up a size. I use Johnsons wipes, am making sure I dry the area and then put Sudocrem ...

Cupcake-themed party

My DD will be 1 in May and I'm doing a FAIRY CAKE-themed party.......... I'm breakfast dinner tea too but trying to be posh and say lunch to DD!! Can't get used to dinner for tea though. Bubble-Do you want to plan it for me? Don't know whether I want to attempt making her cake myself though-not very good. There will be about 8 of her baby friends there so thinking of having a FAIRY CAKE for each of them with their names on. I've seen some things on Ebay like bunting, plates, bowls, napkins and the...

Cupcake-themed party

DD will be 1 in May and am having a little tea party at home for her baby friends. Have decided to have a cupcake theme and have seen some lovely things (tablecloth,napkins,plates,bunting....) but wondered if anyone had seen anything that they think would be suitable. If you could post here I'd be very grateful. Thank you!

Can obesity play a major role in infertility?

I'm overweight and it took me a while to fall pg (although I only have 1 tube and was told it could take longer) I don't always ovulate, I conceived first time with Clomid but sadly had a mmc and although I'll never know if being obese was a factor in this, it probably wasn't but it may not have helped. I then got pg naturally but towards end of pregnancy developed gestational diabetes and had high blood pressure. When i had my antenatal classes we were shown around the birthing suite and I was ...
