Advice re increasing our chances of success

Hi FC79 Think I've spoken to you before.... Hope your well. We both are going through the same. I had ICSI in 2010 which resulted in my gorgeous boy in April 2011. We had 2 x FETS last year which both resulted in positive tests but didn't follow through. We are going for another round of ICSI this year, phoning with day 1 of period in May! We too never thought we would again but as you've said with first one getting older now and wanting a playmate, we just couldn't not! And I'm desperate for a ...

** FET CHAT **

Hi ladybear:-) Ye I'm at Liverpool! With my FET in feb this year (when I had 2 frosties) they defrosted one and they said if it didnt thaw they'd defrost the 2nd straight away. It thawed very well and was very good quality so the other, last one was kept which will be used this time round. I don't know obviously if they do it with higher numbers of frosties because of the wait for each one would add up. I suppose you will find out nearer the time. Babydust to everyone! X

Hi Dusky Thanks for the reassurance ;-) well aslong as it can only get thicker then that's fine! I just thought with my period due around transfer date that's all, but the meds delay it do they? I see you've also had success with a FET which has given me more hope:-) thanks for your info xx Ladybear - I did phone liverpool today an they did confirm you just have the one scan and if lining wasn't thick enough you'd go back but as mine was then there is no need and as dusky said it can only get th...

** FET CHAT **

Hello :-) I've had my scan today and lining was 9.2. My transfer will be probably 13th August. As always I never have any questions until after I've left! I take it I don't have another scan now as they didnt say. Is 11 days not a bit long to leave it until transfer without another scan? And why is it so long until the transfer. They know what their doing as my DF keeps saying but I never think to ask these things! I also had to pay for more buserelin as I have only have a bit left but im wonder...

Thanks dusky:-) Nice to hear your getting on well ladybear:-) I was looking at my protocol sheet last night and I'm on day 31 of buserelin today. According to the sheet I'm to carry on with buserelin for another 9 days making it a total of 40 days on the stuff. I'd been sent 40 needles and syringes and 3 bottles of 5.5ml buserelin. It was only after last nights injection that I could see I wasn't going to have enough for another 10 days! If I'm injectin 0.5ml and there's 5.5ml to each bottle the...

Hi ladybear, how exciting for u! I'm feeling the same but its worked before so no reason why it can't again! I'm on buserelin and started progynova tabs last Wednesday. Had baseline scan last Tuesday and have another scan next Friday the 2nd so transfer shouldn't be too long after that! What medication will u be taking? Lots of luck!!! PMA PMA:-) X

Old member coming home :)

That's right, I was thought it was something like that that had happened. So you have 5 left which is excellent - very good chance of getting another sibling out of that batch then hopefully When I went in February for my 1st FET, I had 2 frozen so they just pulled out the 1 and if that didn't thaw successfully then they would pull the other 1 out straight away. It did thaw and was of best quality and my 1 I have left is of same quality so I am hopeful. And specially after hearing your success w...

Old member coming home :)

Hi ladybear I remember you and was having treatment around about same time as u I think? I had my 1st natural FET in feb this year after a 2 year break from 1st round of IVF in 2010 resulting in my now 2yr old! The cycle in feb this year did work but sadly ended early so we now have 1 blastocyst frozen left and are starting FET #2 at Liverpool again. We're going for medicated this time and day 1 was on Sunday just gone. My drug appointment is 1st July and transfer will be end of July if all goes...

LWH/North West Fertility, Liverpool

Thank u We were seen roughly about 4/5 months after and started treatment a month after that. I have found the clinic ok as it's all I know and obviously we wouldn't have our little miracle if it wasn't for them I did have a natural FET back in feb but 1 thing they don't do is scan you for ovulation. You just Do a home opk and then have the transfer after the positive test. So in June I'm going to have a medicated transfer so I can be monitored more closely. Let us know how you get on, when do y...

Thanks I know it is. It's a long journey but once you can enjoy it which you will eventually it is such an amazing experience I was sooo calm and positive with our ICSI cycle in 2010 and as you've said I'm sure it contributed! With my FET in Feb I was no way near like I was 1st time round but was still lucky enough for it to work briefly which I'm even grateful for that. Keep calm and carry on! Thanks I will look into that.

Hi macksie Congrats on your BFP I hope everything runs smooth for you which im sure it will! Can I ask was it a natural or medicated cycle? And also your previous cycle? Ive just had a natural fet which resulted in a BFP but sadly ended a few days later. I had my follow up on tuesday and they said I could try medicated next time. We have 1 blastie left so Im choosing a medicated cycle this time as with the natural, my hospital doesnt scan after positive OPK whereas I know a lot of hospitals do s...

Is there any hope?

We havent started to do anything as of yet but OH doesnt drink much and has been quitting smoking on and off for a while. He has cut down on caffeine though and we eat ok. One thing I am going to start doing is detecting when I ovulate using the home kits. Ive never ever done this before but recently did it using clearblue digi in february for my FET I just had and it worked ok for me as I picked up my surge on day 17. Now me and my OH dont do the deed too often so we may be missing my fertile d...

Is there any hope?

I count my blessings everyday and still can't believe how lucky I have been to this day. It'll never stop me wanting more but I still think every day of how lucky I have been. Even to get my BFP again last week but it unfortunately ending over the weekend. I too am alright 99.9% of the time, why wouldn't I be I have had such an amazing miraculous gift and never stop counting my blessings. But I wouldn't be human if I didn't feel the need as a women, mother to produce more children, go through ch...

Is there any hope?

Hi FC79 I seem to be in exactly the same position as you.... We cracked ICSI first time in 2010 then had a FET in Feb this year and I had a BFP last Wednesday. Like you I thought we did it so easily last time and with it not being me with the problem I thought it would just work 100% like last time but sadly I started bleeding yesterday and I'm now no longer pregnant well I'm now feeling exactly as I did before I had my DS. I'm jealous when I see pregnant women again and like you we had our son ...
