How much milk should a 10 month old have

Hello Sorry if this has been asked before - but how much formula should a 10 month old have? DS is a big eater - and has breakfast, lunch and dinner. He's also been having a bottle after each meal (about 6 oz) Then at playgroup two other mums (one with an 9 month old and one with a 13 month old) said - oh he's still having milk? - apprently theirs don't. I thought he shoudl have milk for all the vitamins etc. He usually has weetabix for beakfast, bread and bits for lunch and then a jar or what w...

** FIRST TRIMESTER CHAT **

Thanks confused.com I haven't a clue who to ring - when I had DS i went direct to the hospital as they were trialling a new system. I'm acctually a week less than my ticker says - but they only have my LMC date so to them I could be nearly 10 weeks already! If I've not heard by next week I'm going to ring the local midvies and ask them for advice. Can't wait for a scan date to count down to - want to know alls ok. Think I've been worried cos with DS I was peeing loads (sorry tmi) but with this o...

** FIRST TRIMESTER CHAT **

Hello all Sorry no peronsals - just stopped by to say hello, while II'm up in the middle of the night - got very bad sore throat Seem to have lost most of my PG systoms, am not very positive - certainly since I'm still waiting for my booking in and scan date - thought I'd have it by now. Got a letter from local midwives saying they'd passed my details onto the hospital and they would be in touch and to contact them after my 12 week scan. Just a waiting game now! Told my boss at work, but told he...

Natalie, I know exactly how you feel, when we had our first scan at 8 weeks for ds I thought I would be elated, but it turned into a sort of muted worry, it was very strange, and I was more worried than excited, itvwas almost as if it was unreal! I was really happy but sort of down too, and that was with just one baby! Congratualtions on you three! I found it better at the 12 week. Bic, I find I am suddenly hungry now, usually about midnight and I have to eat! Trying to be more healthy as I stil...

One of DH's Looks

Thanks for your replies guys, DH also said that Cos I'd left the laptop out, plugged in that DS was going to strangle himself withthe cord - even though he couldn't reach the cable at all! I had it out with him that I didn't like his attitude and he said that I should have moved the table, so I read him your post Bells. I think your right Polly Pocket DS seems determined to hurt himself, after hittinghimself withthe table he's also thrown himself back a few times, hitting his head on the floor, ...

One of DH's Looks

Today DS was playing around on the floor, I moved his play pen so he could have full run of the living room, but I left a mini drinks table out, anyway DS was trying to play with this table and my and DH were talking at the door, DS pulled the table ontop of him and hurt his eye - screamed the place down, I started crying thinking he'd actually caught his eye - (thankfully just next to so no real damage) and DH picked up the table and gave me a look that said - it's all your fault - then he jst ...

Hi all Scan was ok today - we saw a tiny weenie heartbeat - I was sure it was going to be an internal ultrasound like we had at 6 and 8 weeks at IVF but it was external. Bit more relieved, although the worry continues until the baby is in my arms! Felt very sorry for the sonographer - she was asking our our first IVF and saying that she'd been trying for 6 years withour sucess and that IVF seemed a bit intrusive so they are going to adopt. She must be so strong sharing other peoples baby joy, wh...

Hi Bushbaby When we had IVF we were on progestrone and alot of it seemed to come back out! - Increased discharge is a fact of pregnancy anyway - It carries on throughout, and mine was the same - whitey/yellow! I looked on the net at the time and they said the vitamins I was on could turn it yellow - it sounds totally normal - but if you are at all worried go see the doctor or nurse (as you haven't got your midwife appointment through yet) Even if it just puts your mind at rest *hugs*

when can I resume "relations"

Wth our IVF we were told to wait until after 12 weeks - DH has now taken this to heart with the second pregnancy and will not do anything for fear of hurting the baby - this is driving me crazy - I mean we had relations before we found out - and that hasn't done any harm! - All the websites say as long as drs haven't told you not to then it's fine, but I suppose it's best to wait.

Hello ladies Can I join? I think I'm about 6.6 weeks gone so far - got an early scan on Thursday as I've been having pains - so scared somethings going to be wrong, due to the fact before we found out (in the middle of a three week trip in france) I was drinking and taking painkillers - thinking nausea was due to the alcohol! And couldn't take folic acid until I came back. I had an early scan with my DS too and could see a heartbeat, but I'm not sure I will this time as from my last AF I should ...

Ding Ding...Round 2!

Hi Phoebe Like you we were succesfull with our first IVF and now our son is 9 months - we were talking about maybe doing IVF again next year - or the year after (as our frozen egg storage runs out the end of this year). We have since found out we are expecting naturally - I only had one AF after DS was born and then conceived - (big wonderful shock) we were not using contraception as we didn't think we could conceive naturally. It is a little different as I am not over 40, but it can happen. If ...

Trying again fozen

Thank you for your replies Allyw - good luck with your test - hope all goes well. Had a talk with drs and asked to be referred to Gyno clinic again to figure out if we still need help - she was reluctant and said to wait until AF had returned - which I said I didn't think it was going to, as history seemed to just be repeating itself. Then the day after drs, AF showed up! Had a talk with DH last night and decided to try for natural for a year to see if anything happens but wait no longer than th...

Trying again fozen

Hello all Just writing as I dont know how I feel at moment. Apologies if this is not the place to post. I've never really known whats wrong with me, as no one has ever said, but for some reason I don't ovulate, even though all the rioght stuff is there. I originally tried clomid to get AF started after 4 years of no show, which got AF but no closer to baby. After NHS IVF we were so lucky to get the BFP first time, and have gone on to have a beautiful baby boy. We have 5 blasts frozen, and DH wou...

Combining breast and bottle

Hiya I combination fed from 8 weeks just to give myself a break as DS seemed to be hungry all the time, he's now 6 1/2 months and only now are we cutting down on breastfeeding, so combination feeding is not the end to breastfeeding. We used the tommee tippee closer to nature bottles with a size one top, he still has these now, I think they are fast flow ones, but am not sure, I'd stick with the size 1's as your LO has to work hard to breastfeed so would probably find the bottle similar. Your LO ...

Babys weight gain - how much on average per week?

Hiya Like bubble says if your LO is having wet and dirty nappies I wouldn't listening to the HV that much. Our Charlie started really well by putting on about 5oz a week - then went three weeks with any weight gain - then was about 3 oz a week. He got referred to a dr because they said his weight gain was a concern - Dr took one look at him said he was fine and discharged him! Another HV said as long as he was gaining weight even if it was small it was fine, and then said to weigh him every two ...

Stopping advice please

Hi Chris Yes - all his night feeds are BF, I think during the day now he has tiny top ups but doesn't really feed from me much in the day. I know I want to give up - but will miss the closeness and ease of it. Also worried about putting on wieght when I stop (which I keep telling DH is my selfish reason to keep going). I did think of trying him on formula when he got up at 2am tonight but then changed my mind 0 Don;'t think I'm helping myself! DOesn't help when at my mums yesterday he was having...

Settling Baby At night & Dummy Issues

Our Charlie was exactly like this - still is to some extent - I think it's a bit of wind, but also him being a bit fussy too, as sometimes you pick him up and there's no wind to get out, he'll also scratch his head which wakes him up again - which we now think is just his way of fighting sleep. I think sometimes he also thinks spitting out his dummy is a sport! It does get better - in the early days we also thought it was because we were putting him back down on a cold bed - so got a wheat bag a...

Stopping advice please

Hello I plan to have stopped breast feeding by the end of April (was originally end of Feb, but I didn't want to stop) as I am going away for a few days with chics and don't want to have to express etc. Now he is on solids he's having less breast milk anyway and has up to two bottles a day. He currrently has formula and lunch time and at about 6 when DH comes home. He wakes about twice a night for feeding. Should I be giving formula at different times to help me reduce down more? I was originall...

Thinking about introducing some formula

Hiya We introduced one bottle of formula and BF the rest at four months as I just needed a break! We were quite lazy and have used a carton of the ready made a day. He took it it really well and loves his bottle - we have now gone up to two bottles a day with his food and he just BF's about twice a day and at night (some for comfort though I think). The Breastfeeding advisor told me it was best to reduce BF slowly
