Nissens and Gastrostomy

Hi guys, Just wondering if there is anyone out there with experience of this. DS is 16 months old now, and after health problems including recurrent chest infections since birth, they have found he is a silent aspirator so needs the above surgery. Just wondering if anyone can tell us a bit of what to expect. Beyond the surgery length and the time he will need to be in hospital afterwards, we are slightly in the dark!! HELP!

First midwife appointment (new pregnancy after loss)

Awww, Debi. You would have thought an experienced midwife would have tried to put you at ease. Sounds a bit like mine was on Weds. Young one all eager, older one a bit off putting.... Wonder if we are under the same community team (I'm in Leeds too) Listen, if your hospital consultant was pretty confident last time that there is no reason this will be the same, hold onto that. Bells is right. This is a totally new situation. I know its easy to say, but keep positive. You will be seeing a consult...

Choosing a school

Yes. From the term after their 3rd baby, they are entiltled to 12.5 hours a week government funded. We are going to leave R in her private nursery and the fees will be reduced accordingly so thats not something we have had to think about. The one thing remembered is even if he goes to the nursery, he doesn't automatically go into that school.

Shoe Sizes

They've never been big. R was a 3 at 10 months, so not expecting her to ever have big feet now. On the plus side, we tend to get about 12 weeks out of every new pair of shoes!

Choosing a school

We are going to keep R in her private nursery until she goes to reception in Sept 2010. We need to be looking to apply from April next year. Its something we looked at due to the 5 2 & 1/2 hour sessions she would get from next Sept. Its easier to just keep her where she i for reduced fees. Also, entry to a school nursery does not definately mean you will get into that school for reception. Most nursery intakes are twice the size of reception, so half won't continue. Nursery places are also alloc...

EGG COLLECTION - General questions

Welcome to FZ Rosie. You did the right thing calling the clinic. Just to try and ease things a littlr you - Internal scans can cause some bleeding as they irritate the cervix etc. All you can do is wait and see what tomorrow brings, but try no to let it worry you too much. Good luck for EC!

Fertility Drugs- Can they be funded by NHS?

Our GP offered to pay for the drugs without refering to the PCT. They are fantastic!

Confused re: cost

We had a fee pay ICSI cycle which cost us £2,836 without drugs. Our GP offered to do the prescriptions for us so we just had to pay the usual NHS charges.
