Worried about 8 wk scan, and blood in urine

Hi, its a miracle I am posting in this part of the site. My last post was in the m/c section, having been told that I had probably had a missed m/c (my gut instinct was that I had too) but the hospital couldnt confirm it until late in my 6th week when they would expect to see embroy/heartbeat. I was emotionally and mentally a mess. So I was amazed when I went in for scan to hear the bad news to see an embryo and heartbeat. Based on LMP I was 7 wks + 5 but based on embryo size I was 6+6 (which wo...

Invasive procedure before Clomid?

Thanks for the info Paul - I will ask my GP to repeat the progesterone. In terms of the ovarian cysts, I have had a scan and the sonographer that one of my ovaries is polycystic. All my Consultant said was that it was unusual to be polycystic on one ovary only. As that is all he said, I have no idea whether they are likely to affect my ability to ovulate/conceive.

Amount of BD'ing..? (strange question I know)

Hi, sorry of this seems like a strange subject for a post, and I am guessing possibly there is not set rule on this, BUT... ...I wondered if anyone had been given advice on how much BDing should be happening in the 'window of opportunity' (which I have taken to mean the 5 days pre O, then the day of O, and the day after to be on the safe side). My GP is adamant it should be every other day during that time to allow DH's swimmers chance to recharge. DH is awaiting result of a detailed sperm analy...

Invasive procedure before Clomid?

thanks for all your replies ladies. I am still a bit stressed by the idea of having a laparoscopy ( a GP friend of mine said it was better than a HSG for checking tubal patency) so think will leave it a few more months tto see if TTC naturally is successful. Of course, if after that time I still need Clomid then so be it.... xx

PCOS - one ovary only?

Thanks Flic, it makes me better to feel I am not the only one. I get my blood test results back next week so that should reveal the extent to which it is going to be a problem. x

Impact of cone biopsy

Thanks for your replies. I am a bit worried I was told that the biopsy would have no impact on fertility/any eventual pregnancy when there is information out there to suggest otherwise. Phillipa - hope you don't mind me asking, but with the over-producing glands, was that due to cervical ectropion? I have that as well as CIN1 and I am told it is the reason why I get thick CM all month long. xx

Impact of cone biopsy

Hi, I have been diagnosed as having CIN1 and been told I need a cone biopsy. My Consultant says it will not have any impact on TTC or pregnancy at all. He was adamant about this. My research suggests otherwise, ie that it can reduce the ability of cervix to generate EWCM, and makes you more prone to miscarriage and premature labour, sometimes requiring a cerclage. If there is any thing else I should be aware of? I obviously don't want the CIN to worse so I guess I will need to have it soon. But ...

PCOS - one ovary only?

Hi, I had a pelvic ultrasound the other day and got told my right ovary is polycystic, but the left is fine. My Consultant simply said it was really unusual to have it on one side only, so this has got me paranoid that maybe it isn't PCOS but something more sinister like ovarian cancer.... Has anyone else been in this situation? I have got to do Day 5 blood tests tomorrow and I guess they might show if I have high testosterone? My cycle is regular-ish; been off the pill for 9 months now, first 3...

Invasive procedure before Clomid?

Hi, My GP suspects I have low progesterone - had a low result this cycle and have had a lot of bleeding in week before AF for last few months. I am seeing a Consulant as I have pre-cancerours changes of the cervix and my GP suggested I ask him about dealing with the low Progesterone. He says he will prescribe Clomid if I do not get pregnant in next 3 months - but I have to undergo a HSG or laparoscopy with dye first to assess tubal patency. No procedure. no Clomid. As far as I know I do not have...

Low progesterone = no ovulation? Am very confused...

Thanks for your replies. Yes the EWCM thing worries me a lot too. I think I do get it, as I have noticed my CM gets runnier mid-cycle. But I think it just gets mixed with the thick stuff I get all cycle long (guess that explains why it is never clear), presumably from the ectropion/recurrent thrush. So am worried DH'S swimmers wont get through, and I'd quite like to just go for IUI because I hate all the uncertainty.... but DH wants to wait a while, and doctors have told me to try naturally for ...

Low progesterone = no ovulation? Am very confused...

Hi, I have not been on the site for a while whilst hoping things would just happen naturally, but... me 32, came off pill 7 months ago. Cycles irregular at first but settled down to 29-32 day cycles. DH 30 with good swimmers. 2 cycles ago: 8 days of bleeding (heavier than spotting, but lighter than AF) before AF started properly. Never had this before. Thought maybe I had low progesterone/luteal phase problem. So bought OPKs for 1st time. 1 cycle ago: relieved to see OPK positive at Day 16/17. A...

Calculating cycle

Hi, this might seem like a silly questions but I am not sure when I should consider my AF has started sorry if this is tmi - but after years of being on the pill, was used to AF just starting as a full red flow out of nowhere. But last month I had 2 days of thick dark brown discharge/mucus before the proper red flow began. Should I consider Day 1 of my cycle to be when the red flow starts properly, or when I see the brown stuff (which is obviously the beginning of the AF)? I want to get it right...

Cervical mucus questions

Hi thanks for all the messages. It seems there are conflicting views on Preseed, but if I don't have any luck without it may give it a try a couple of times as it seems to work for some people... Asssuming the mucus isn't caused by an infection, is it the case that there is nothing I can do about it other than try Benylin? Does anyone know if estrogen tablets will help and if so, how likely is it that an NHS GP will prescribe it? Are there any disadvanatges/risks to taking estrogen tablets? I've...

Cervical mucus questions

Thanks Paul that is very helpful info, I appreciate it. GP told me to come back in April if no luck TTC, and she will do blood tests then. So I don't think I can persuade her to do them any sooner! I was very emotional during the appointment and she just told me to stop stressing, it should happen in time etc, and that I was getting ahead of myself. GP did a swab to test for thrush (because of what she saw) and I should get the result next week. I assume (and hope) they'll check for other infect...

Cervical mucus questions

Hi - first of all I am new to FZ...hi everyone I am writing this because I think there is a problem with my mucus. I came off the pill (after 15 yrs) in June this yr. So far, my periods seem to have established a semi regular cycle (1st came after 35 days, then 31, then 26, another due next wk). But when I was on the pill I always had loads of thick creamy-white mucus (sorry if thats too much info!). Since coming off it, nothing has changed. I had a smear test done the other day and the doctor t...
