GP changed my EDD

Hi It's frustrating when people don't seem to be listening, but go with your clinics DD and make sure they are aware it is IVF therefore not much room for error!!! With my IVF pregnancy a doctor didn't listen to us and we ended up having a very stressful nuchal test scan as the dr kept saying something was wrong as the baby wasn't measuring right but it turns it's because the 1st dr didn't listen and used the scan date and not our date and therefore we had the scan a week too early!!! hope that ...

weight loss since giving birth :(

Hi Jen, sorry your having trouble with this. I can't comment 'cos i'm the opposite, but i think a trip to the GP is a good idea, i had my thyroid level checked and it's a bit underactive - apparently thyroid probs can be quite common after PG. hope you feel better about things soon

bad nights sleep :(

Hi jen What we did was put alex down then left the room for 1 minute, then go back in, put him back down as he was up at the bars crying and then leave the room for 2 mins, basically you keep repeating this leaving and extra minute each time .The biggest thing i was told was don't interact with them and don't pick them up and cuddle them. It is really hard and once you start you have to be committed and stick to it, our 1st night took 1hr 20mins to get alex to sleep and i cried for at least 45mi...

bad nights sleep :(

Hi Jen How's it going now? we took alex to see a HV who specializes in sleep on monday and have been doing controlled crying all week, last night he only cried for 2-3 mins before falling asleep which was brilliant and i only had to go back in 3 time over the whole night (7pm-6am) which is so much better than the before. I hope things are getting better for you, and love your new avatar

bad nights sleep :(

Hi Jen We are going through exactly the same with Alex at the moment and i'm sure it's teething. Since we came back from canada he has been all over the place with sleep, but when he does sleep he often starts SCREAMING . He has ended up in our bed a few nights but i don't like it and so i've brought the travel cot in our room so at least he's on hand but goes back into his cot between scream sessions. Several people have said they have had similar experiences so i'm really hoping it is just a p...

7 mths and still not sleeping through.......

Have just read this post and am so glad i did 'cos i no longer feel alone Alex is 7 months and although he hasn't had a night feed since he was about 10 weeks he does wake frequently in the night, we often struggle to get him down and i'm afraid we still let him fall asleep on us 'cos we are just so tired. We then put him down in his cot in his room but he then wakes up several times a night screaming. Usually putting his dummy in does the trick but not always. We are going to try and get a new b...

Travelling abroad with babies.....

Just thought i'd let you know that we made it to canada pretty smoothly, customs was a breeze at heathrow, and Alex was brilliant on the plane , even slept for 3 hours (not in 1 go but 3hrs none the less) Adjusting to Canada time is taking a bit to get used to (8hrs behind uk), but i think by the end of the trip we'll have it licked Worst thing so far has been having milk and baby food confiscated by customs, they let us keep the ready made sma i'd brought to keep s going a few days but the rest...

changing teats to bigger size

Not sure if this will help, but Alex is still using the size 2 teats and he's nearly 7 mnths old. I found that he gets in such a mess with the size 3 teats ones (normal and vary flow) that i keep changed back, every now and again i try again but so far the size 2's seem to suit him best. Best of luck with what ever you trye XXX

Travel long haul with baby

Hi Ladies All going well we are taking Alex to Canada in 2 weeks time and i was wondering if anyone had taken their LO on a long haul flight recently. Alex will be just over 7 mths old and i have read up loads about how to deal with the flight and what to pack but would love some 1st hand feedback. With the terror attack on the us aircraft over christmas i know security is going to be tight and at the moment that's the only part of the trip i'm dreading. Because it's a 10 hr flight we have booke...

Baby Jogger City Mini

we have the baby jogger city mini and it is GREAT It is so easy to put up and down - one handed usually, you can get an attachment so that the car seat (ours is a maxi cosi) fits on the top, and it is very light weight and travels well - ours has already been on a ferry and on a flight. I use it for walking with my dog, it's not great on sand and can be a little hard work on rough ground (ie no paths or dirt paths across the common) but overall i give it a big And we thought it was great value f...

I dont think I can do this anymore

Hi Pammy, sorry your having a tough time, i don't have any pearls of wisdom for you as Alex isn't a hungry baby and had to been bottle fed from the 1st week but just wanted to send you my support and best wishes. These babies are everything to us and it is very hard to know what to do for the best sometimes but i'm sure you are a fab mum and doing a great job.

Hi folks, hope you are all well and keeping all these cold and flu bugs at bay. We have all been full of cold this week but are all on the mend now. I have just found a great few programs - 18 kids and counting and jon & kate plus 8 - and i think 1 is hard work lizzy, your day sounded lovely and baby smiles are just the reward you want
