Mucus plug & show questions

The midwife calmed me down so didn't go in, then had a tiny bit of mucus later so putting it all down to part of the 'show'. Had a weirder feeling later, got up after sitting down for ages thinking I'll go to the toilet and it felt like I was wetting myself, went to the toilet and my knickers and pants were wet, still went to the toilet too, so thought maybe my waters broke but without contractions, rang the labour ward and all they said was wear a pad and see if any more leakage, if so then it'...

Mucus plug & show questions

Thanks for that girls. The labour ward said not to worry but wear a pad and keep an eye on it, I wasn't too impressed with them. The midwife believes it to be still part of a show and said the same to wear a pad, she does think it is a show more than anything else, as she was more re-assuring then the other lady i have calmed down a bit. She did say if I was really really worried then I should go to the labour ward and aks them to check me, if it's a show then go home and all o.k, if not then th...

A Show???

Has anyone here had a 'show'. Apparently it is normal to get a 'show' before birth - a small mucus discharge/bleed. Just wondered if anyone has experienced it yet and how. I got a small brown discharge on Sunday, then some pink yesterday morning, the midwife said this is all o.k and is a good sign that everything is going in the right direction and that labour could happen anytime from 24hrs to a few days, I have read that a show can happen upto 12 days before. So I was just told to look out for...

Iron levels...

I'm still on mine. The reason for nausea is taking them on an empty stomach. I read somewhere on the net best taken like that but that made me also feel dizzy. I know take them 1/12hrs after a meal and don't eat a meal til at least an hour after. Think it's working, also overdosing on red meat and green veg ! Going to request another test to check the level this Wednesday at my 38 week appointment. Midwive scared me last time saying if it stays low, it is dangerous during labour, she made it sou...

I'm Having A Baby DVD ~ Anne Buckle I have this weird feeling that baby may come early, don't kow why I think that but DH reckons I should get a dvd soon !

Birthing DVD

Could anyone recommend any DVD's to watch before Due date. I am due March 12th and leave for maternity leave on Feb 22nd and my antenatel classs is Feb 16th. I'm thinking that is a bit late and may need to know some stuff before the 16th. It's my fault, I got the numbers confused on the sheet I was given and when I contacted the NCT they were charging £250.00, I was like no way am I paying that when I could spend that money on baby stuff (oh how things change!) So I thought get a dvd but in the ...

Not Talipes but Fibular Hemimelia !!!!

Scan did not go so well. It was not Talipes, after the detailed scan it showed that my baby has Fibular Hemimelia. The left lower limb bones are hypoplastic and slightly bowed (Fibular Hemimelia). This is associated with a disrupted ankle joint and lax angulated foot..... They is no reason as to why this happens and it is down to just bad luck (haven't we had enough already!!!!) There's also not any statisitcs on this as not enough cases. Erm, the actual extend won't be known until baby is born,...

Talipes

Hi all. I haven't been on for a while, just been chilling really and started to enjoy my pregnancy, that is, until yesterday after having my 20 week scan! Everything seemed to be going fine with the measurements until she got to the legs and the measurements were a bit off. One leg was shorter than the other and is bent inwards. She said she wasn't sure about it and hadn't seen the shortness before and said it needed to be seen by a specialist, so have now been referred to St Georges tomorrow mo...

Small Fall

I'm good. Rang the midwife today as had loads of cramps last nite and sharp twinges, so let her know about the fall but she says that the cramps/twinges are most likely still from the fact the uterus is growing and she said that at 14 weeks it's highly unlikely that anything will happen to the little one. So im relaxed now.
