Ivf funding appeal

and welcome. Im on my phone so its just a quick reply but i wanted to mention NHS PALS who are probably the best people to help you try to secure funding under these circumstances. I will try to add a link to their site when im on the laptop later otherwise google NHS PALS and search for your local office. Good luck!

Bess what a lovely day for you to have your scan, so happy for you RW rest up when you can! AFM sorry to cast a cloud on this thread but its not good news for me I had my scan on Wednesday, saw the heartbeat which was so lovely. Absolutely perfect! Help for a friend - monochorionic triplets

hi, I dont have any experience of triplets personally or through my friends but I just wanted to wish your friend well. Once thing I would say/suggest is that I did have a twin pregnancy and that failed because of a placenta issue, which we have since been told may have been preventable had I have been prescribed aspirin and also given an ultrasound scan at around 17 weeks which is known as a vasculature check. I am sure she will be monitored very, very closely, but if you can somehow discreetly...

Quoted from "Bess" Komolafe - hooray !!!! I have a friend !!!! Congratulations on your BFP!!! It's wonderful to be able to come in here isn't it ?? Looking at your history you have had a really rough time, so I can understand you being nervous coming in here. I was too. But, we have to believe its real don't we. How exciting you're scan is not too long away (although I know it feels like forever!). I have my first midwife appt on Monday so very excited about that. Fingers crossed we're in this ...

BFP but do I keep checking?

Lola. I was the same when I got my 2 weeks ago (I had previously got a the day before my blood test) so I wanted reassurance. All I did was buy a clearblue digital pack of 2 (with the conception window) I used one last Saturday which said I was 2-3 weeks from conception, which basically means you are 4-5 weeks pregnant. And the second one I used yesterday, to check if the conception window had changed, and it had! It had increased to 3+ weeks so that now means I am 5+ weeks. I basically have no...

Has anyone found a clinic in any country at which IVF including medication cost less than £2,500 - £3,000?

I agree with Gracie about embryo adoption being a really good option (but understand if you are desperate to try your own eggs) I had my egg donor treatment in ALicante, but I noticed most of the clinics there offered embryo adoption at a much lower price than our treatment which was 3,500 euros. I am pretty sure in one clinic it was only 1800 euros. Don't want to push you in a direction you're not happy to go down but just wanted to give you the extra info so you could make an informed choice x...

New to the forum and just starting to try to conceive as a single woman

Hi and Welcome. Would you consider travelling abroad to a clinic that offers donor sperm? I know our circumstances are different as it was the eggs I needed from a donor, but we found the clinics abroad are much cheaper and if you do enough research you should hopefully find a reputable but reasonably priced clinic. I dont know why the UK charges so much, its awful that they can make so much money from sad circumstances. I wish you all the luck in the world on this stage of your journey. Don't g...

Need help comforting my husband please help

So sorry to hear your DH is going through this and I know it will be agony for you watching him. I felt I should give my husband the option to walk away when I couldn't give him a healthy baby, but now I realise we got married because we love each other and not because we expected to be able to have a family (I always had a gut feeling that I would have trouble conceiving so never presumed the next step would be to have children) Anyway, sorry to ramble....when I opened up to DH he was shocked t...

Thrush :(

Ohh Louise you poor thing, its sounds so painful. I've not heard of thrush there....hopefully someone can give you some tips on the other thread, but just a thought to prevent it from reoccurring, would nipple protectors be any help? I know they are usually for when the nipples are so cracked and sore, but it must prevent direct contact between the baby's mouth and the breast so might be worth a try! Good luck xxx

Low Placenta in twin 1

HI Suzy sorry you've got this to worry about. I was intially told I had the same issue around week 12 but they told me not to worry about it because as you grow, the placenta can be pulled up out of the way of the cervix, and just as hoped/predicted, that is what happened and by week 16 the placenta had moved out of the way completely. Try not worry too much, you will be getting the best care and monitoring I'm sure and they won't take chances with you. As for them telling you about your weight,...

Host surrogacy. Has anyone done it ?

Wow, here's hoping! You and your family are just amazing and your empathetic nature that you all share is just wonderful and so refreshing. It is a truly selfless thing that you and your DH want to do, offering a couple the chance of a baby is incredible! You certainly do not come across as insensitive, quite the opposite. You appear to be so calm and content because life has been kind to you and you don't take it for granted, you appear to value everything you have so much. Your family are luck...

Very tearful and starting to lose hope :(

Really sorry to hear the position you're in. It is so hard to deal with infertility when it seems everyone around you gets pregnant so easily. I am in that same position right now and totally understand why you are feeling so low. Believe me you are not alone and you will get so much support from here. I would also suggest and Egg share scheme, as here's hoping has suggested. Some clinics dont charge you for any of it, others only charge about £500 so its well worth considering. You have to agre...
