Hey lovely ladies! Just popped in to say congratulations to BooBoo! what a lovely name! Hi Ali bird, not too long for you now and I don't worry about the new baby, honestly you get the same surge of love for the new one too! keep on with the hypnobirthing stuff, it made such a difference for me this time and yes I had a very short labour ( less than an hour an a half ) and it was still painful but manageable pain. I was in control the whole time and when Miles crowned ( whilst walking in the cor...

I just popped in to see if there was any news about Shelley? Mum I cannot believe that girl posted that c**p! what an evil cow. I hope your friend deletes her and has no contact whatsoever. Good for you for giving her a mouthful back. I had terrible back pain towards the end and had the strong cocodamol 30/500, but I only took one at night along with one paracetamol so that I could get in and out of bed and roll over without screaming... but I totally understand why your friend wouldn't want to ...

** THIRD TRIMESTER CHAT **

Morning everyone! Hoping, I had wanted to go with the remifentanyl PCA ( patient controlled analgesia) this time, as I was sure I'd want something more than paracetamol and the hypnobirthing. I have an anaesthetist friend who says all the labouring women love it. Basically you are hooked up to a machine which when you press a button delivers a small amount of the drug, so you can have pain relief for every contraction. It means you can still change position etc whilst labouring too which is bett...

Denise, I am so sorry to hear about your news. How frightening and life threatening too. I feel bad about posting my news , but team GCRM gave me a little boy, Miles, yesterday, born rather rapidly, but we are both fine and home. 6lbs 15 oz, so better than predicted, Very rapid labour, about an hour and a half from start to finish and Miles made a rather quick arrival, his head crowned in the corridor before I got to my room and my husband ran into the room after parking the car, to see his son,...

hi ladies!, typing one handed as baby Miles arrived rather rapidly yesterday at 2.45am! Woke having twinges about 1.20, by 1.50 waters had broken, my friend came over and picked up DD for us and by then the contractions were about 2 mins apart so we drove rather quickly to the hospital although it still took 20 mins ( hypnobirthing breathing all the way!) DH dropped me at the door and went to park the car, the head crowned in the corridor.... I delivered my beautiful baby boy whilst fully clothe...

Hi everyone, just popped in to say good luck with the sweep Shelley, or have you gone yourself? AFM, exhausted and not sleeping well at all, feel guilty as not taking DD to her swimming lesson, rhythm time class or gymboree this week as struggling. Still I guess its hopefully not much longer. I think head is definately engaged as bump is so much lower and I can't roll over in bed without a very odd sensation deep in my pelvis, but I guess I'll find out at my last mw appointment on Friday. She ha...

Hey everyone! I can't believe that's me actually on my countdown now to my due date on Sunday. I've been helped by a lovely friend today and the house is gleaming from top to bottom ( no mean feat when my husband is pathalogically untidy and I'm pretty untidy too!) with no, I repeat no clutter! So I feel ready for Tiddler to arrive as we are all ready! I guess than means that I'll probably go past my date..... Shelley, hope things happen before your sweep on Wed, I'm booked for one on Monday if ...

Shelley, wow! d-day tomorrow! My best friend had her baby at 5.05 this morning, after she woke having contractions at....... 4am! She only just made it in to the hospital and the midwife was still washing her hands when baby Callum shot out! The joys of a second baby, but very, nearly born in the car park! Good luck with the midwife tomorrow morning ( or hopefully you won't need it, curry and fresh pineapple for dinner, gaviscon for afters and then a wee spot of !!!) I hope they do a sweep for y...

Hi everyone! FC, not sure if I got around to congratulating you! delighted on the safe arrival of your little boy and hope you're healing well. I know that the physios will be following you up, make sure they do! Lozza, I can't believe how close I am now and after everything you went through in the beginning, here you are counting down in the third tri! Still struggling to relax with the hypno birthing, still persevering, but so immobile with back not sure how I'm going to manage to labour and c...

Mum82, check out Bells list for hospital bag in third tri, it covers everything ( apart from where to buy a big enough bag for it all! ) I've kind of looked everything out and its all washed, but there seems to be so much stuff! I'm hoping that as this is our second time around we'll be in and out in a flash????? wishfull thinking? The hypnobirthing folk are very big on the perineal massage so ladies I have a confession, as my back is soooooo bad I have had to get DH to do it its definately not ...

** THIRD TRIMESTER CHAT **

Hey everyone! welcome to the new ladies. Hoping, yes, breathing counts as moving, so its really just for monitoring breathing when sleeping. I worked in A&E for 20 years and true cot death isn't very common ( sadly there are usually other factors involved, like drink, drugs or foul play) but unfortunately it does exist. I guess in your Mums day they just didn't have these sort of options to monitor babies, or such an awareness of the risk factors. You probably don't need a movement monitor! In s...
