C-Section questions

What fab advice girls!! Thank you all so much. Its a huge HUGE help! Ive had operations before but never a section so its hard to know what to expect. And then all these thoughts run through your mind (mine usually when im in the shower, as you do haha) and its great to have them answered. Its really good to know how different hospitals do things, even although it all sounds very much on a par. Im already using incontinence pads which are horrible and feel like nappys BUT. You feel so much more ...

C-Section questions

I was literally in the shower and thought of a load of probably silly questions about sections that I wouldnt mind some help in answering if possible! And who better to ask!? If anyone has any examples or stories about what a section (elective) involved Id also love to hear. One thing i was thinking about and sorry if its TMI is that I know after delivery you have a long, heavy period- when does this usually start up? Because if its straight away then you'll need help with pads etc if you cant m...

RM- I had the same feelings about a natural birth. If im honest, i hate every single thought of a section and had I been carrying a singleton would never have even thought about a section over a natural birth. I actually felt quite down about it. In the end though Ive realised that it is more straight forward in some respects, that theres less chance of the babies getting distressed or unwell, and although I'll take a little extra to recover, as long as the babies are ok thats the main thing. Es...

It's showing on my phone I've somehow pasted convo's from my diary onto this thread and I have no idea why or if it's just my phone going mad! Apologies if my update isn't there and a random post is. If a mod could delete the ones that shouldn't be there as I don't seem to be able to. Sorry x

Hi girls thanks for all the messages and posts. They've confirmed my waters/membranes have gone and I'm constantly leaking at the moment. I cant believe how much fluid sometimes! They won't induce me but have put me on antibiotics to stop infection and are monitoring the babies to check they don't get distressed. They seem perfectly happy. when they last checked my cervix it was closed but they haven't checked since Monday lunch time and won't now incase of introducing infection. I'm currently n...

My waters have broken at 29 weeks

My waters broke yesterday at the hospital at 29 weeks. Theyve leaked ever since and I've just had my second steroid injection. I'm getting tightenings on the monitor but I'm absolutely petrified. Babies are not in any distress. They think il deliver today, and naturally as both are head down. I'm so scared they'll not be well afterwards. I can't believe this is happening!!  Really needs some words of encouragement. I feel so upset!

Hi girls. I'm 29 weeks tomorrow and being admitted for 48 hours for steroid injections to help the babies lungs develop. I'm really nervous. Have any of you had this done and what was it like? Did it hurt? I feel silly getting nervous about it but can't help it! X

Changing bags

I think we've briefly talked about changing bags previously but I've been looking around and don't know what to buy. There seems to be a lot of women who say you don't need a 'twin' bag but all the usually bags look quite small. My best friend had a 10 week old and a 2.5year old and has a 'Baby K' one from mothercare which is said she can sometimes struggle with after all their nappies and bottles are in it and hers is one of the largest bags I've seen. She doesn't put it over the handlebars but...

Would you take antibiotics in pregnancy?

Certain antibiotics are perfectly safe and won't harm the baby at all. General penicillin ones are usually perscribed like amoxicillin or flucloxacillin etc. I've been on them pretty much all the way through and am currently on strong intravenous antibiotics to treat a chest infection. You'll be fine hun x

Baby monitors for twins

Hey girls. I really want to get a video monitor for the twins when they're born. Not sure if they're worth it or whether it'll work with twins but does anyone have any recommendations? It needs to have a long range and I've seen a Motorola one which you can move the camera from the handheld unit so I assume il be able to check on both twins with it. Any ideas? X
