Baby monitors recommendations/advice for twins

Thanks ladies. I'm doing well thanks Pip. Feel so much better now I'm (hopefully) over the sickness, & enjoying the gentle punches & kicks at the moment. Going back for 20 week scan part 2 today (couldn't do all the measurements 12 days ago as 1 of them was such a wriggler). Hope you and your little ones are all well. Xx

Baby monitors recommendations/advice for twins

Deciding on a baby monitor is next on our list. Can anyone recommend current models & what the most important features are? I'm thinking having 2 cameras would be an advantage but otherwise what are the most important things to bear in mind? The ones DH has been looking at online are BT Video Baby Monitor 7500 Motorola MBP 853 Video Motorola MBP 36s Philips Avent SCD 603/1 Anyone got one of these & if so are you happy with it? Thanks

Expecting twins

Thanks Pip. Glad to hear your girls are doing well. Good to know what other people are doing rather than just guessing what works. I definitely could do with some practical parenting advice! They're non identical. We haven't decided yet whether or not to find out the sex. Part of me wants to wait but then I also think preparing for twins would be that bit easier if we knew whether to buy stuff for boys/girls/one of each. Where we live there aren't any shops with baby stuff nearby so we need to b...

Expecting twins

So lovely to hear from you Pip. How are you & your twins doing? How old are they now? Thanks for the info on buggies & car seats. Feels like a total minefield at the moment. Did you use Moses baskets/cribs or start with cot(s) straight away? Did/do your twins share a cot/room? How early did you start your antenatal classes? friends of ours just had a little girl at 32 weeks which has got me a little bit panicked about how early the twins could be. Sorry, that's quite a few questions! Xx

Expecting twins

Hi Ashastar & Onewish. So lovely to hear from you & thank you so much for your good wishes.sorry I've been off the radar so long. How are you both getting on with your little ones? Onewish, I'm so sorry I had no idea you'd lost one of your twins. That must be so tough. I agree, I'm ok with telling everyone I'm pregnant & that it's twins, at this point. It's DH that's hard to convince. Take care ladies. Xx

Expecting twins

Thanks Hello & Sasha. Congrats Hello! Not too long for you to wait now. We like the look of the Bugsboo Donkey but have only looked online so far. Hoping to take a look in store at the weekend. I know my DH is really excited, he's just very cautious too. He won't let me do anything in case it puts the pregnancy at risk. Nice to be looked after but can drive me nuts too!! Just booked on a 1 day parenting course for multiples in July, so hoping that will help put us both on the right track. Also w...

Expecting twins

I'm 16 weeks pregnant with twins! ❤️❤️ It's taken me a good while to get around to posting my news (cautious/paranoid after multiple previous miscarriages), but having made it through the 1st trimester I'm allowing myself to get excited & starting to feel more optimistic. My belly is expanding rapidly & I'm at the point now where none of my regular clothes fit, so have been doing a bit of online maternity clothes shopping this week. We're also starting to think about all sorts of things, like: -...

Stomach pains in pregnancy

Hope the pains have gone Pip. I'm booked in for my FET next Monday, so am well into this cycle now. All fine other than I'm a bit stressed as preparing to move house in April! Xx

Struggling today

It's so so hard and so terribly unfair. I opened a Christmas card with DH's cousin's new baby photo on the front the other day & it completely floored me. I'm happy they got their IVF baby on their 1st attempt but feel I don't want that card where I can see it. It's just too much to think they'd barely even met when we started ttc & here we are, still plodding on with the injections wondering whether we'll ever get there ourselves.

1st ivf anxieties

Hi Clarabel, I agree, it sounds like your number & size of follicles are all fine. Sorry but I'm not sure what the lining should be. All the best for EC tomorrow. Don't worry about quantity. It only takes one or two good ones for it all to work out. Last cycle I only had 5 eggs, which resulted in 2 blastocysts transferred, 2 blastocysts frozen and a pregnancy. Xx

Such lovely news, Gingerbean! So happy for you. Sorry to read what you've been through these past 2 weeks though, must have been terrifying not knowing.

uterine NK cells results back

Hi Jade, Sorry to hear you're not getting any definitive answers & sorry I don't know enough to be able to recommend anything. Just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you. I had the thrombophilia blood test (my consultant recommended it) & it showed something very slight in the results. The consultant told me that doubling my Folic acid intake & taking all the meds I've already been on post ET should prevent any problems from this & she doesn't believe it caused my 2 miscarriages anyway.

Cefalexin at nearly 5 weeks pregnant. Anyone taken it for a UTI so early on?

Just seen this thread, a few months after the question, but thought I'd give my experience anyway. I have been on antibiotics for a chronic UTI every day for 2.5 years and during that time I have been taking 2g cefalexin every day for the last 2years, including during 3 IVF cycles. I am 6 weeks pregnant & the UTI specialist has told me he will keep me on the medication throughout pregnancy to avoid the risk of a urine infection flare up endangering the pregnancy. The IVF consultant agrees this m...

Gestone injections

Hi Louise I had Gestone injections the last 2 cycles & it really helped boost my progesterone. No bleeding. Needle's not as bad as it looks. DH injected them into my bum for me. All I will say, is make sure you massage your bum regularly to help disperse it as the oil can form a bit of a lump in your bum otherwise. This time I'm on prontogest injections, which are pretty similar. Good luck

CRGH

Personally, I find the waiting for appointments frustrating & the fact it's a different nurse/dr every time we go in less than perfect, but so far I've not had quite such a bad experience as everyone else. Or perhaps my expectations/priorities are different. The consultant has been brilliant: very helpful, forthcoming with info & explanations, and very thorough at tailoring everything very specifically to what we need. The patient care at crucial times (EC & ET) is great. The embryologist's are ...
