** THIRD TRIMESTER CHAT **

Hi Shelley - the first part of my show was like you described. That happened friday afternoon. Then Sat morning I had the full yucky jelly fish thing, kept having a bit more of it through the weekend and my waters broke Sunday night. I knew on Sunday evening that it was going to be that night. My body kept sort of tightening, like when you dry heave on a hang over (lol), and I felt knackered like you say you are. Sounds like not long for you hun, good luck!!

Hi Everyone, hope you are all well, just thought I'd pop on and say hello. Can't believe James is 5 weeks old today! I just put him on the bathroom scales and he's a stone so a right chubba wubba. Sorry not to do personals to everyone but we had James' christening yesterday and I am madly clearing up whenever he sleeps, have just popped on here for a break. Hoping - just thought I'd comment on diet. I was so the same as you first time but ended up on insulin, this time I understood my diet a lot...

Hey Hoping - just thought I'd pop in and comment on GD. I suffered with brekky so not surprised to see your reading high with cereal. As you move on through preg GD gets worse so things you could eat at one point you all of a sudden can't! I found basically no carbs was best for brekky, so eggs/bacon etc was fine!! I also bizarrly found out fruit was fine, I had avoided it assuming it was super sugary but once on hols thought sod it, ate a load of lovely fresh fruit and had a really good reading...

Hi Everyone, Well I finally have a few minutes to myself so thought I'd catch up. James is a real peach and the absolute image of Thomas. We're over the moon and totally in love with him of course. Labour was good, (!!??!). My waters broke on Sunday night so because of the GD I had to go in even though labour hadn't actually started yet. The delivery suite was totally empty so they let me stay there with DH rather than put me on the ward and send him home. As my last delivery was so quick they s...

No induction required! James Richard arrived this morning weighing 7lb10oz and looking the image of big brother (embie twin) Thomas. All doing well.

OK - so just had rest of show - grim!! I didn't have first stage labour last time so no idea what to expect now, hopefully not just burst waters and the need to push straight away like with DS1 as I'm taking him to a birthday party this afternoon!!

Nothing more since yesterday. Think maybe just him moving down a bit further. He's very quiet this morning though.

Does anyone know if a show can be just brown blood - not really mucusy? Felt a bit of a surge down below earlier and when I checked there was brown blood in pants and when I wiped. No more since and phones hosp who said it might be start of show? Good luck Sunday Scoffs.

Know what you mean twin lottie! I'm eating pineapple and walking miles to try and jiggle him out. Just uncomfy now and ready to meet him! Glad he's going to come a few days early though as 26th is ds1's birthday and I don't think he'd enjoy sharing!!

Hi everyone, I had my last appt at the hosp today and am all booked in for inductionon Tuesday, yikes!! They say he measured 7lb10 today so I hope they're slightly over estimating. Can't believe this time next week I'll have 2 boys causing mayhem (3 if you count dh). Exciting.

Medela Swing is indeed great and easy to use, even if you do feel a bit like a cow being milked!! The carriers are usually weight specific. The baby bjorn is 8lb, Thomas hit that at 10days so that's when we started using it. Two of my friends had 4lb bubas (one prem, one thyroid issues, both v healthy monsters now), they used the close to me (think that's what it's called) sling like one pretty much straight away. I never felt that was secure with my lump though, guess it's personal preference a...

You can't really feed in the baby bjorn but I think itsa good one for getting long term use out of it. Some of my friends had the close to me one which was lovely when they were small but didn't last as long when they got heavier, they could feed in that though.

Breast pumps just go in the steriliser. You give them a rinse along with bottles etc and then just chuck them in. And you can buy replacement parts. It's the motor bit that's expensive but you can pick up new shields/tubes etc reasonably. I had medela swing for ds1 and it's been in the cupboard while so have bought new shield, tube & valve for hygeine.

Hi All, Shan't do personals but will try and cover BF questions - this is only my experience though and different for everyone. Taxihome is a good example of when things just aren't possible and it's great these days that we have such great alternatives, the formula really is good and my DS was very happy when we did switch him. Housebound - no, never - I was worried about that too as I'm someone who goes stir crazy very easily. I am fortunate to live in the centre of St ALbans where there are g...

Hey BooBoo - just do what you think is right. You could maybe get a couple of bottles (TK Maxx do Tommee Tippee very reasonably) and a few cartons. If you're planning on using a breast pump you will need a steriliser and a couple of bottles for that later on anyway and the cartons are around 70p I think. I was spurting milk all over the shop last time and I still have a couple of cartons in the drawer just in case. Aptamil is meant to be the most breast like and seems to be what most MWs suggest...

Welcome Harry & LL, good to see you guys in the 3rd tri. Re hypnobirthing, I have a CD that I downloaded onto my iPod and it certainly helps me relax and was a lot less than a course. Not sure it'll do much during labour but I know it helps when they're prodding about with my cervix (sorry tmi), getting pessaries in etc for induction as I used it last time too. Would love to hear the stories of ladies doing it properly though. AFM - was originally due to be induced yesterday but my sugars have b...
