water birth anyone?

I am planning on spending labour in the pool but give birth on land. I did this in the birth of my DS and loved it. With him I never intended to give birth in the pool but if I would feel like staying in the pool with the next one I will. I am all for water births but I do worry about the infection risk from a water birth.

EXERCISE DURING IVF

I stopped in the end of stimms for a short period (as I was swimming at the time) and swimming hard gave me some cramps. My doc told me to go on with life as normal and even said that a lady that had several BFN's with IVF got a BFP on the cycle where she went on a roller coaster the same day as ET Keeping fit (and maintaining fitness) will help your mood and nerves!

Starting nursery

Good luck for today! I hope she (and you) will love it!!! We started with two mornings a week but then when DS started hanging on the door chain the rest of the mornings we accepted the fact that nursery was indeed more fun than us!

Prolonged AF whilst stimming. Help!

I was bleeding through stimms when I was responding badly. Call your clinic to let them know as they might want to up your dose. You should stop bleeding as your hormone levels rise.

Mothercare baby carrier is rubbish!!

I found that the hug-a-bub (similar to the karri me) for tiny babies and then the Ergo Baby for larger babies are the best of the best! Tried soooo many slings (or 5 at least) and these are the two I would not hesitate to buy again!!!

Short protcol - what will my dates be?

It is around 16 days from start to finish (period to transfer) Sometimes faster, sometimes slower. You start the drugs on day 2-3 of your period (stimming and downregging at the same time)

my marriage is collapsing...

Sweetheart! you are not wrong. It sounds like you are in an awful situation and I really feel for you. There is a life out there and you should not walk around feeling unloved and unhappy. Equally, your DH should not have to MAKE himself hold your hands etc. I know that I would much rather be on my own than in an unhappy marriage. What does your counsellor say? Are you getting any kind of support? Having a child is really hard work. DH and I have weekly chats to maintain our relationship and it ...

Jess, you will need all that food if you are BF and or looking after a little baby. Trust me, good food really is needed to make you feel good! (that is good in the nutritious sense and not good for comfort )

Not gaining weight

I used to pull the corner of DS mouth to start him sucking better now and then! Change GP surgery if they won't see you is my advice. That would make me furious!

Not gaining weight

Is she gaining weight at all and how does she look? My HV was pretty useless so for all my concerns I went straight to my GP which is absolutely fab. If your HV gives you full confidence then listen to her and try do as Philippa says and get your DH to try the bottle. If not, let your GP check her over to see if either of the options is really needed. X

1st holidays

Traveling with a baby is easy peasy. The younger they are the better (I found). We started flying from around 6 weeks and our trick has always been to keep DS busy as busy can be at the airport but without giving much to eat or drink. The tough time is the period between sitting down and fastening the seat belt and the actual take off... I will only give DS his drink 3 minutes into the flight or when my ears have started to feel the pressure as the drink is then helping him equalizing his ears. ...

Baby gates??? Which one???

I got the roller blind ones by Kiddyguard. They are very safe but DH think they are a bit fiddly. All in all we got 5 gates for the offices and the stairs but it was more to keep areas for us safe than to keep DS in a designated area 3 of the gates are Lindam ones and the best one is this one as it is so easy to open and close: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lindam-Easy-Fit-…34291494&sr=8-2 Then there is another Lindam gate that is OK but a bit fiddlier: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lindam-Easy-Plus…3429157...
