Thanks Buzzbee - I have not had time to look at the link yet but will do. I honestly don't think it is sleep regression though as she has done it for so long. Last night was great and she didn't wake - so we do get good nights - it's just that we don't know what's up with her so it's frustrating and feels like about time she settled into a proper sleep routine! Yes DP still in room with Edie but we are trying to change that - waiting for a mattress to be delivered as me and DP actually have nowh...

Hi ladies, Happy New Year!! It's been a while since we've chatted hasn't it? We 're all so busy now I know. Anyway.....jut after some advice/ides etc.... Edie is the problem at the moment. She is 16months old now and sleep is still an issue. I remember it being so with Harry but in a different way. She wakes most nights and screams for 30mins-1hr. And we don't know what is wrong with her. In the past we always put it down to teething - she still only has 4 teeth and there doesn't seem to be any ...

Thanks Elizmac - good to hear that others are small eaters as well and pulling the same tricks! Need to ask you a medical question if you don't mind....? DP's sister has recently had 2nd c section and wasn't allowed diclofenic this time as apparently the rules have changed re breastfeeding I think. Do you know anything about this? I'm asking as DP is worried as she had diclofenic last time and is considering a c section this time but is worried about the pain as she sister was in quite a lot of ...

Thanks ladies. I just find the foam ones not high enough so feel that Harry could roll over it IFKWIM. Might try them again. AG - that was a bit extreme sawing the legs down - made me LOL!! Harry is in a single bed (with me!! a habit that needs to be broken). So it's quite high up. I tried putting him in the cot bed on the lowest setting but he didn't take to it and prefers the single - but the height is an issue. I could probably leave him in it now with some king of guard but he is waking up a...

Thanks for the info Elizmac. I'm going to do it after the hol - but am already slowly not giving him some stuff. Tonight we had mashed potato and he put a spoon in his mouth and then spat it out so I don't know if he doesn't like it or just wanted something else. Anyway he ate nothing really and cried most of the way through dinner and then had a banana and some milk before bed. I tend to do what you do with lunch and if he doesn't eat it he gets it as his snack later on. But it is hard because ...

Elizmac - what sort of things did he eat before and what will he eat now for a meal? Harry won't put anything in his mouth. He used to eat things like spag bol and rice dishes but will not even try them now so getting a bit worried. He will eat toast, crumpets, malt loaf, Weetabix, fruit (no veg except carrots and he's going off them!), fish fingers, eggs, sandwiches at lunchtime, houmous, bread sticks, yoghurts - so he does eat a variety but he likes to snack on things rather than eat a meal. W...

Hi all, Harry had his 2 yr check last week so just wanted to ask your opinions. I mentioned that Harry doesn't eat very well anymore and that he won't try foods and eats the same things. The woman told me to not offer anything different for meals except for what we're having and to leave him to go hungry if he won't eat it. The theory being that eventually (in a few days when he is starving) he will eat the same as us. She told me only to give 2 snacks during the day and that they should be smal...

Hi AG - yes well I think we've been close to a nervous breakdown a few times recently! We seriously wouldn't have done another round of full IVF so quickly - it was the fact that DP had a frosty and was all age related really. You are right and being a stay at home mum is definitely not the easy option. Dealing with young children is really difficult and demanding and tiring - I love it - but work is definitely easier. Sorry to hear you've been having a hard time lately. Why are you taking N out...

Hi, Very quiet on here lately. I know we are all really busy just now. We've been having a bit of a nitemare with DP's job. Anyway to cut a (very) long story short DP has a new job to start in Jan. It came about off the back of the one she didn't get. The head from the school where the teacher got the job called DP out of the blue to ask her to go and look around his school and do an interview. Then gave her the job. It's a better job than the one she went for initially and more money which is g...

Thanks ladies. NH - they will not eat a tomato sauce - I have tried all the techniques of hiding stuff. I'm afraid they just like what they like and that's it. I'm constantly wasting food as I 'try them again' with stuff as I know that just because they won't eat it now doesn't mean they won't next week. Harry used to eat Bolognese and stuff but won't touch it anymore. DP did not get the job! It came down to her and another person out of the 8 of them so she did well. But she's used to going for...

Hi all, Just wanted to ask a bit of advice....Harry and Edie just seem to eat next to nothing. Well, actually they do eat plenty of bits and pieces like toast/malt loaf etc through the day but won't eat proper meals. I've tried cutting the snacks with no effect. I'm worried that they are not getting enough nutrition. Harry will eat fish fingers or real fish at tea time but not much else and they both have Weetabix for breakfast or sometimes cornflakes. But they don't seem to like having a varied...

Hey all, Just a quick one. Edie has had croup and ended up being admitted to hospital after out of hrs GP failed to diagnose. She was quite bad with her breathing and it was a worry. She's fine now though thanks to the steroids. So DP had the week off work as the hospital said she could not be distressed as it would make her breathing worse. Don't think that will have gone down well at DP's work. She has applied for another job - in a really crappy school that she doesn't want - but wants to get...

Elizmac - that's a lovely name. Good weight as well. The birth sounds a bit traumatic though. At least it's over now and you can just enjoy her. How are things going? Is she better than Ross was at this age? Buzzbee - yes, best to leave it till next week. Think we'll all be OK by then. It's difficult this week as Harry keeps perking up and then all of a sudden he's under the weather again. Not helped by the fact that he won't have a nap. Yesterday I couldn't stop him falling asleep at 5.30pm he ...

Elizmac - what have you called her? You've probably said on FB but I'm not very good at using that. I have just added 6 photo's - not great ones as I couldn't manage to do it very well! You birth doesn't sound so good but at least it was fast! How's it all going with 2 of them. Has Ross taken to her? NH - glad you're all feeling a bit better! AG - sounds like the sleep is improving. Harry had an afternoon nap first time in about 1 year today (as well as morning). He is really ill poor thing. He ...

AG - not much I can advise really. Are you sure she still needs her nap? How long does she nap for? Maybe she needs a shorter nap now. Harry went through a phase of being a pain at bedtime so I cut his nap and then after a few days he started falling asleep at T time (too late) so I realised he does need a nap. Then I started waking him after 30mins and it made things a lot better. Now he generally has 30mis-1hr and I don't tend to wake him unless he goes longer than 1 hr. It has helped. But jus...

Hi all, Chilli - nice to hear from you. Yes I am on FB but not under my real name and I don't do anything on it - was just purely as the mum's group that I meet with arrange when and where to meet through messaging. So I'm happy to add you all as friends so I can see what you're all up to but you won't see much in the way of updates from me on there. Plus I don't know how to do it. Recently added Buzzbee as she managed to find me. NH - big congratulations on your new job - I know you've not been...

Hi all, Very quiet on here now! Edie is 1 today - not that she knows it. So I'm just getting ready to take them both to a play place. It's been OK looking after them both full time - none stop though! Most days go fast but occasionally I've thought....'what am I going to do this afternoon?' etc. There's only so many walks to the park or round the shops. Trouble is most things have to be paid for - especially in the wet weather. Anyway, it's going OK. DP is having a terrible time back at work. Th...

Elizmac - I was sure you'd had the baby as you'd not been on here in a while. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that it happens soon as you must really be fed up. The last few weeks are just horrible. Have you just got the 1 blastocyst? IKWYM about not wanting anyone else to have it and not being able to destroy it. DP is currently doing FET as she has 1 blastie and we would not have destroyed it either and she is 40 now so time not on our side. If it works then I won't be able to try myself an...
