Aberdeen Fertility Centre

Hi there, I havent been on this site for a few years, we had ICSI in 2009 and have a nealry 4 yr old daughter. We are considering trying for a second next year using our frozen embroys. We recived a letter stating that we would need to destroy, donate, use or pay for further storage and we cant face having them 'disposed of' without at least trying. We will need to pay for further storage to hopefully use in about a year due to waiting for our lg to start school thus reducing childcare costs. im...

Hip Problems

Havent been on here for months - bad me, just so busy trying to prepare for isla going into her spica and im back at work full time now (DH is part time). I saw Moonshine on the steps forum so thought i would pop back. Mooshine, how are you guys and Molly coping now? like Bells LO im amazed and pround of how well Isla has coped, and i was so woorried as she never settled into the harness at all. I still get upset thinking of how upset and terrified Isla seemed after her first general and the spi...

Hip Problems

Thanks Bubble, I looked at Moonshines diary and Isla will be going into the same cast as Bells LO was in, just glad wee Mollys harness seems to be working, must be hard with twins as well. I phoned steps again last week and did get some advice but think i will call again and see if they can put me in touch with someone locally. Just found out a friend of DHs wee girl had a spica when she was 10 months old so he has given us some advice as well. Most people i have read about tend to have older ki...

Hip Problems

Thanks Compley, Will def try that Nappy trick, i think it will be easier once she is weaned but she will be about 5-6 weeks in cast before weaning. They will change the cast twice in the 18 weeks to allow for growth so thats a plus i suppose. Just have so many questions and want tokmow the answers but i know we need to wait til her pre op - im sure she will be ok and just hoping so much that this works

We had Isla next hip scan last week nd the blinking harness had no effect which means more investigation under a general to inject dye into her hip then 18 weeks in plaster from her waist down (with a nappy gap - hip spica), annoyimg as doc says its a mild case but still needs the same tx to fix, he sai...

Any help would be appreciated - not yet tested, am I pregnant?

Hiya, I had the heavy veiny boobs and extra CM when i got my BFP, hate to say it but the only way to stop you from going mental with all this is to test but try and stay relaxed when you do, i know its scary to get hopeful then have them dashed but knowimg will stop you questioning every feeling. mega good luck hun

Calling All Mums - FZ Survey on Estimated Baby Weights

1, Were you told an approximate weight during your pregnancy or a weight to expect at birth? (if so, what was it?) from 20 week and 34 week scan was told she would be average size - approx 7.5lbs, later measurements and scan showed she would be small 2, Was this decided at a scan or with a tape measure? (or even just by palpation by a midwife/doctor) Scans, tape measure and palpation (i always measured small with tape but scans showed was average until 37 weeks) 3, Did you worry about this infor...

Six Months of Breastfeeding

thanks Grace, good to know im not the only one to feel like this. I do plan on expressing at work, will make full use of the return to work policy and take time to express a few times a day and also before i go to bed so hoping i have enough. DH has allergies (nut, wasp sting and hayfever) so i want to provide breast milk for as long as possible and be very careful when weaning. Bubble, i noticed you mention baby led weaning, what is this, is there a thread with info?

Six Months of Breastfeeding

Six Months of Breastfeeding

Woohoo - mega well done Scottie I so hope i can follow in your footsteps and BF for 6 months, big test will be if i can express enough when i go back to work when shes 5 months - will never be able to say exclusively BF as she had a tiny amount of formula in hospital, wish i had been stronger when they said she needs fed NOW and wouldnt give me 15 mins to finish expressing but i suppose she did have low blood sugar so no energy to latch and expressing took about 20 mins and she was on a strick 3...

Hiya, hope everyone had a good Easter weekend. Isla was in a good mood after breaking her harness on Friday but was v moody yesterday when it got put back on, scary part was consultant was in surgery so others fitted it, well they failed and i had to tell them the best way to put it on (while I was screaming) - scary you would think they would know, they also gave me a spare and tried to tell me how to fit it properly, thhink i could figure it out better than them. Its not eeasy though and very ...

Mother in law --- grrrrrr

Oh Deirdre i could have written your post - only would have been about my mum as my MIL is fab. when you say about mums and their sons that is how my brother is, whinges away then sticks up for her and changes his tune when she is about. My mum doesnt agree on a lot of things we do e.g. tv, i said no tv and when she was visiting i went downstairs to see her watching tv with LO and shes always telling me im selfish for BFing, as it means she cant have 'alone' time with my LO. I also struggled wit...
